Celtic’s domination of Scottish football is as good as over, trophy 119 and a draw away to Bayern Munich is as good as it gets for the hoops and their fans.
That is the verdict of Keith Jackson and Hugh Keevins with Daily Record digital reporter Mark Pirie putting the thoughts of the two great men together to spell out the demise of Celtic as the countdown begins to a probably sixth treble in nine years.
Brendan Rodgers is looking to finish the season with a record of 11 trophy wins in 12 attempts, beyond this summer it seems that the Irishman would be as well packing his bags and getting out while the going is good.
In trademark Record fashion, this time online ahead of his gushing appearance at 6pm on You Tube with his Hotline Show, Jackson has been selected to release the details of a transformative takeover of ‘Rangers’. In June 2012 the Record put a coffin on their front page to inform their Army of readers of RFC, RIP.
It seems that story wasn’t correct, ‘Rangers’ are alive and well and are poised to dominate Scottish football again in the glorious style of Sir David Murray.
The San Francisco 49ers are set to bankroll a new era of domination with excitement levels off the radar at the ailing Glasgow publisher which is now effectively a parody of its once glorious self.
There is no detail on the stunning deal for a company that has lost £100m in 12 years and on course for losses of £30m for the current season which will again end without a trophy in the Blue Room.
Putting the thoughts of the two journalistic heavyweights together, in the Record Pirie warms Celtic fans:
Hugh Keevins reckons that Celtic’s dominance of Scottish football would be at risk should the US led takeover bid of Rangers backed by the San Francisco 49ers succeed.
Record Sport revealed?in a mammoth exclusive that top-level discussions over a multi-million pound investment began before the turn of the year – and they are now understood to be at an advanced stage. One of the key men behind the proposal is Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe – the man in charge of the NFL giants’ investment arm, 49ers Enterprises – is part of the consortium that would look to restore the Light Blues as a challenger to Celtic.
With mega-money spending potentially on the table, Mail Sport columnist Keevins reckons that a deal would change the “complexion” of the Scottish Premiership going forward. He told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: “That kind of thing would come under a radical solution. Rangers at the moment are going nowhere, and they look at Celtic and they see a team they can’t begin to compete with on or off the park at the moment.
“If a takeover of that magnitude were to happen, that changes the complexion. Rangers can’t get anywhere unless they get some money. They can overhaul the squad, and be a stronger proposition than they are now.”

Up until 2012 Keevins and Jackson lived inside the cosy medial bubble created by the O** F*** as two Glasgow clubs shared the honours while reporters bounced between the two clubs, enjoying succulent lamb on one side of the city and picking up crumbs from the other.
Those days are over, the excitement of Dave King’s takeover in 2015 proved to be a damp squib with Celtic soon embarking on the most dominant period in the history of Scottish football. It hurt Keevins, Jackson and Record circulation badly.
Print sales of the Daily Record are currently around 42,000 a day with the online version becoming more and more desperate to create good news for the declining demographic of ‘Rangers’ fans hoping for release from their living hell.
It seems that becoming Leeds Reserves is as good as it gets, Internet Bampots will uncover the real details of the deal while Jackson purrs over transformative transfer splurges with Keevins hoping that someone can deliver the True Blue dreams that he invested his hopes in Mark Warburton, Pedro Caixinha, Steven Gerrard, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Micky Beale and Phil Clement with.
Reality suggests that Jackson will still be looking for wealth off the radar on the streets of Motherwell while Keevins discovers that another ‘Rangers’ Revolution is Absolutely Not Good Enough.
Sir Craig Whyte was unavailable for comment last night due to fits of laughter.

Season ticket time..??
Hopefully we get to see THAT casino and floating pitch.
And they call that paper a Celtic rag
Ahm shittin mahsel.
When was the last time the 49 ers won a Superbowl?
They’ll win a gigantic fu**in Super BEGGING BOWL the day that they ever get involved with Sevco !
Keefs on the meths , that has to be the reason for his inane rambling.
The Record was insistent that the talks were at an ‘ advanced stage ‘ inside Ibroxland. Have the possible new investors been granted a peek inside the official ‘ books ‘ ..or maybe the ‘ unofficial ‘ books , because if it’s the former , then that definitely becomes a game changer as far as anything goes ? Those nasty figures and numbers would put any prospective money person off their breakfast and lunch … guaranteed !
I wonder if “in advanced talks with” is the takeover equivalent of “keeping tabs on”, “have asked to be kept updated on”, “have sent several scouts to watch”, “are preparing a bid for” and all the other pish they spout from similar “unnamed sources close to the club/deal/player’s agent” when trying to generate a story about the impending, Dembele dollars-beating, sale of one of their star players? That then never happens, but which also usually appears mysteriously close to season ticket renewal time.
Before the new owners wash a dish.if it goes through that is.. they will have to spend millions of pounds acquiring enough shares to run the club in the way they want. And millions of pounds more fixing up the stadium..or maybe get the club cheaper than Craig white and sell it to…TESCO
Can’t stand anything about Keevins.
A snidey wee nasal voiced hateful grudge bearing wee rat.
And also absolutely shite at what he does.
But he disses Celtic every week, he knows that guarantees the weekly paycheck and continued appearances.
Do you think he can even remember the day he sold out?
As far as non-stories go that’s tops. FFS???
The ifs, buts and maybes are off the fukkin radar!
