Robin Propper has stalled on his expected return to FC Twente following a disastrous season at Ibrox.
The defender had a release clause in his Twente deal, only one club was interested, offered £2.5m plus a massive leap in wages to the defender who had never played in a single European tie or at any international level.
Propper stepped into the boots of Connor Goldson but looked badly equipped to cope with the basics of Scottish football from the moment he scored an OG in his debut against Motherwell.
Halfway through his two year contract Propper knows that he is wanted again by Twente but is playing the game for an Ibrox pay off rather than walk away from a season of big money.
Discussing the situation, Twente’s Sporting Director Jan Streuer told The Sun:
We have to wait and see with him. Robin wants to hear from his club on what they’re going to do.
I understand that there are new owners, a new technical director, a new manager and new coaches.
They always have new ideas and they also bring their own players with them.
The question is what all this means for Robin but he’s welcome back here.
Last summer five first team players at Ibrox, including Goldson used similar tactics to get out of the Clement Revolution. Total fees of £810,000 were raised.
Kev Thelwell faces the same situation with players knowing that they won’t get their wages matched elsewhere while agents know that the Ibrox club are desperate to cut costs.
don’t go R P don’t goooooooooooooooooooooooooooh ffs !!! bleed em dry !!! Chortle
Does he know who he is dealing with?
Well here we go again with the summer TRANSFER CUP being displayed in the cabinet at liebrox.
Raskin the midget is being hunted by a host of top European clubs and a pile of EPL clubs as well with the bidding fee to start £20 million bang bangs, this from football insider,it must be from some Janes Hunt inside a looney bin with talk like m,£20 million for midget.
This is only the start of it,James Forrest pointed out on his blog earlier,a sevco bloggers page bragged about £70 million in players will be moved out of liebrox this summer, with the full £70 million quid being spent on replacements.
And to think they are allowing these ARSEHOLES to breed as well as letting them near scissors and matches.
That’s PROPPER loyalty to the loyal loyalists that is to stay and FIGHT for his place !
Somehow I don’t think that they’ll be very happy with that decision if it’s true !!!
