The full racist and sectarian song book was out in force at Ibrox yesterday.
Police Scotland made four arrests. It seems that only one of the arrests was sectarian related.
It appears that Police Scotland just wanted to manage the event without actually ensuring that the Law of the land was upheld.
Both teams were held back in the tunnel as the Public Address system prepared for their Tina Turner classic.
Just as it starts the referee signals to the two captains to lead their teams onto the pitch.
‘The Best’ means very little at Ibrox these days. The main enthusiasm for it lies in the pauses between lines.
That is when the home fans bellow out their favourite add-ons.
Anyone with an awareness of football in Glasgow knows those add-ons. They are sectarian but no action was taken by Police Scotland.
The fans attending the match were home Season Ticket holders or supporters that bought tickets directly from the club.
Broadcaster Premier Sports passed no comment on the sectarian chants that they were sharing.
If a stray ‘f’ or ‘c’ word heard at Kilmarnock or St Mirren they rush to apologise with a chuckle.
Perhaps they are quite comfortable with the chants from Ibrox?

Police chiefs said the events surrounding the Old Firm match at the weekend “passed without major incident,” as first reported by The Glasgow Times.
However, the force confirmed that four people were arrested, with one person alleged to be threatening and abusive while resisting arrest and another arrested for an alleged breach of the peace.
Among the other offences, a police officer was allegedly assaulted, and one man was arrested for alleged sectarian abuse.
One man. Think about that. Alleged, think about that.
Police also issued a warning for a drugs offence, and a youth was reported for a Section 38 offence.

The Best isn’t on the play list before matches staged by UEFA.
But with the SFA it is a different matter, they are quite happy to cater for the excesses of Scotland’s newest football club.
A special agreement was created in 2012 to fast track Charles Green’s club into the top flight.
Legislation could have been brought in to ensure that the vile, racist songs and chants banned by UEFA were made law in Scottish football.
Instead the SFA under Stewart Regan and Ian Maxwell anything goes as they put commercial interests first.
Plenty of media outlets drool over the wonderful O** F*** atmosphere.
None of them scratch the surface or go near what the chants are and what they mean.

It wasn’t lost on me yesterday that all that anger hate and bile was directed at a football team , a side of 11 men walking out to partake in a sports event , the only way to end this is shut them down , put them out of business and Celtic have the powers to do that but that would be the end of the OF fantasy

Make no mistake – Cops and The SFA / SPFL will want them winning on Sunday as well for that very same fu**in reason !
Let’s hope Police Scotland return favour and pay a visit to them lowlife hun tramps this week to remind them of their responsibilities ahead of next weekend game at Celtic Park. Our board are weak and gutless, a f*****g disgrace
