Kasper Dolberg’s potential move from Anderlecht to Celtic didn’t progress during the course of Saturday.
On Thursday night in a typical deflection exercise word went out to selected messengers that Celtic were showing interest in the striker alongside news that Anderlecht would have to sell players after losing out on a place in the UEFA Conference League.
Of more substance news also emerged that Celtic were trying to sell Adam Idah to Swansea, that deal was at a far more advanced stage with the striker in South Wales finalising his personal terms and undergoing a medical.
All seemed to be going to plan until Brendan Rodgers intervened, stating that Idah couldn’t be sold until a replacement was brought in which presented a major problem for Nicholson just as he was about to go high-fiving round the boardroom with an extra £7m in the bank account.
Since Friday’s lunchtime media conference there has been no movement on either deal, two strikers and in limbo with the managers at Anderlecht, Celtic and Swansea trying to operate this weekend with players who could soon be on the move or dealing with the deflation of seeing a move fall through.
Just past midnight Anderlecht online reported:
TRANSFERS
Yesterday, we reported that Celtic are interested in Kasper Dolberg. It now looks as if the Scottish club is shifting into high gear to sign the Dane.
Anderlecht’s elimination from the European Cup has forced them to sell several more players. Shortly after yesterday’s match, Dolberg also seemed to doubt his future at Anderlecht: “How will the elimination affect my future at Anderlecht? I don’t know,” the striker explained.
Scottish sources are currently reporting that Celtic are keen to push ahead with the signing of Dolberg. The Glasgow club have reportedly already held talks with the player, which are said to have been positive. They see Dolberg as a key player in winning the title and, after their unexpected Champions League exit against Almaty, also putting in a solid performance in the Europa League.
They would pay 8.5 million British pounds, which is approximately 9.8 million euros, for this. Anderlecht didn’t make a single statement regarding a potential sale of key players after their elimination. But there’s a good chance we saw Dolberg in an Anderlecht jersey for the last time last Thursday.
A departure from Dolberg would, in any case, severely weaken the record champions’ attack: Goto has been loaned to STVV, leaving only Bertaccini (who gets along well with Dolberg) and Vázquez (who had to leave but can’t leave)…
How do you rate Celtic's transfer business
OUTSTANDING- exactly what the team needed
ON HOLD- They'll come good by September 1
HORRENDOUS- Looking as bad as 2023
It looks like there could be a lot of rushed activity going on through Monday as Nicholson again shows that he doesn’t have the skills for the job that he’s been sitting in for almost four year.

Paying more at the last minute…the Celtic Way.
Wonder who’ll get the blame if he’s a dud.
Good luck to Idah if he moves, its not that long ago nearly every fan was screaming at the board to get him in after his exploits.
He’s been treated poorly.
I’m not Adam Idah’s biggest fan…but he is receiving brutal treatment by our Club…and he doesn’t deserve that…His head must be all over the place, thanks to this utter shambles…I’ve said it before…but I’ll repeat it here…I’ve witnessed many embarrassing transfer windows in my time…But this takes the prize…It’s an utter shitshow…and how we get out of it will be ” interesting”.
Adam has been treated appallingly by the suits. Their incompetence was why he cost so much, not his fault, now their ballsing around is messing him about. F#ck the suits
