Listeners to Super Scoreboard tonight were denied the tactical analysis of Andy Halliday.
The veteran midfielder is still drawing a salary from Motherwell but his media role is to provide the inside track on all matters Ibrox.
In midweek he was pouring his heart out in tribute to the departing James Tavernier.
With his employers pulling off a famous win. Their first in six matches, Halliday was perfectly placed to share his know how.
Instead listeners to SSB were treated to the thoughts of Alex Rae.
True he was feeling the pain as much as Halliday but there would have been a special irony on hearing from the Monday night regular to SSB.

This season Halliday has made two appearances off the bench for Motherwell in the SPFL.
He makes more media appearances in a week than he does putting his boots on and getting involved.
Super Scoreboard and Open Goal are the regular gigs. He’ll also pop up quite regularly on Sky Sports and BBC Scotland.
Halliday was in the away dug-out at Ibrox as Motherwell pulled off a thrilling 3-2 victory.
He didn’t head over to acknowledge the away fans at the final whistle.
When Stephen Welsh returned down the corridor to the away dressing room Halliday was lurking around. There was no contact between Halliday and the celebrating Welsh.
At the age of 34 it seems certain that Halliday won’t be offered a new contract by Motherwell.
It looks like full time punditry is the most logical option next season although a move to East Kilbride is likely to be an option.

He’ll be on multiple football shows this week dissecting Rangers woes and what they need to do to win the league. https://t.co/RFRw1ih0L9
