Michael Gannon has good news for Celtic fans today.
It seems that a £60m windfall is heading to the hoops to invest in a brand new team.
Unfortunately this money comes from selling off the remaining decent players in the squad. The signings that Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers forced through against the wishes of Michael Nicholson.
Both managers quit after basically two years in charge.
They came to Celtic to build football teams, not to create a ridiculous bank balance through lack of investment.
Gannon is apparently the Record’s Celtic man. He covers almost every match, every pre-season and European trip.
Last season he broke the news that Celtic were in advanced talks to appoint Wilfried Nancy as manager.
He then spent two months explaining how brilliant a manager the Frenchman would be.
Now Gannon is trying to spin the transfers of Arne Engels, Daizen Maeda and Alistair Johnston as good news. For a laugh he tips Celtic to rake in £2m for Michel-Ange Balikwisha!
2??7??0?? days since Celtic spent a permanent transfer fee. The idea that AJ needs to be sold to generate income is as ludicrous as the notion of the board “turbo charging” anything.

It all might sound a bit daunting but there is an upside – Celtic might be able to bank an eye-watering £60m plus to fund the DIY SOS.
Record Sport has a look at the men who could make the Parkhead club serious money.
MEMO TO GANNON: Celtic have had between £70-90m sitting in the bank doing nothing for a year while the team on the park slumped to EIGHT defeats in the SPFL Premiership.
NICHOLSON AND THE MANAGED DECLINE OF CELTIC
Last summer Nicholson sold Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah, replacing their goals with Shin Yamada.
In January 2025 Brendan Rodgers rejected the opportunity to sign Yamada as the replacement for Kyogo Furuhashi.
Sixteen months down the line Kyogo hasn’t been replaced. In the 24/25 financial year Celtic paid £12m to HMRC in Corporation Tax.
Selling off Kyogo, Kuhn and Idaha over two transfer windows while signing Yamada is very close to corporate vandalism. Topped off by appointing Wilfried Nancy.
Previously Nicholson replaced Jota with Marco Tilio, Yang Hyun-jun and Luis Palma. Kwon Hyeok-kyu was bought and moved on without making an appearance. He underwhelmed on loan at St Mirren and Hibs.
Celtic face multiple problems today, next week, next month and on going while Nicholson hides in his office.
A £60m windfall might excite readers of the Record.
Is it too cynical to think that this was published by a media partner on the deadline for Season Ticket Renewals?

The fans will NEVER LEARN.
Screwed again with limited power to do anything about it.
God, there must be some procedure the fans/shareholders can do something about this megalomaniac major shareholder?
Anyone who still reads the DR deserves what they get.
