Brian Wilson cut the most unconvincing of figures as he sat down with Gerry McCulloch for another exercise in complete denial.
For 4 minutes and 49 seconds Wilson outlined all of the work that is being done behind the scenes that no one is able to view.
Wilson was big on supporter engagement, all of the plans that the club has to bring fans closer without anything specific being mentioned.
The club is so committed to supporters that they are discussing reviving the quarterly Fans Forum. The last quarterly Fans Forum was held in May 2025.
Michael Nicholson was also big on fan engagement in his pre-recorded interview played at the AGM in November.
So far, five months later Nicholson has come up with a new club app. Nothing else. Unless increased contempt is included.
WAFFLING WILSON GOES ROUND THE HOUSES AVOIDING THE ISSUES
Wilson waffled away without making a single commitment.
On February 18 he promised the Celtic Fans Collective a follow up meeting within a month. The Collective are still waiting.
Perhaps if the Collective had discussed ferries and the SNP they would have got some enthusiasm from the interim Chairman.
With a multitude of issues at the club nothing was addressed straight on by Nicholson.
For four months the club has had an interim Chairman and no Head of Football Operations.
The fact that the CEO is still hiding and pushing out a 77-year-old interim Chairman to deliver five minutes of waffle saying nothing of any meaning.
There is a lengthy list of things that need done at Celtic. The mute Chairman is near the top of the list.
Absolutely nothing was dealt with. Watching it the initial reaction was ‘is that it?’
Clearly the club has absolute contempt for those anti-establishment fans as Ross Desmond describes them.
WILSON RESTORES UNITY TO CELTIC!
Anyone in any doubt about that needs to re-watch the underwhelming video from Wilson.
Summing things up Wilson gave us the Labour Party favourite that unity is strength.
There is 90 minutes of support for the team in every match. That doesn’t equate to unity.
The contempt held by the board for the support is returned with interest. There is no unity at the club away from matches. A check on retail income will confirm to Wilson that Not Another Penny is working. And working well.
Sometimes saying nothing is more meaningful that offering contempt to those pesky customers.
Wilson’s resignation, with others at the club following Peter Lawwell and Tom Allison out the door.
Competent replaces would be warmly welcomed. The current job lot clearly aren’t.
Wilson sounded as sincere as his good friends Anas Sarwar, Sir Keir Starmer and Peter Mandelson.
