Three weeks ago Barry Ferguson told Daily Record readers how his old club would win all five of their post split fixtures.
What could possibly go wrong under Danny Rohl with the inspirational James Tavernier leading from the front?
After losing four successive cup finals Ferguson is in a familiar place.
A summer of misery lies ahead trying to summon up enthusiasm for signings that have barely been heard of and without anything substantial on their CV.
The Daily Record will be able to provide the hype and spin. But deep down Ferguson has been through the script too many times.
PAIN AGAIN FOR TRUE BLUE FERGUSON
After 14 years of despair it is getting harder to trot out the usual cliches to rally the troops.
There is barely a fan under the age of 30 that has celebrated winning a title in a stadium.
Hanging onto the glory of Steven Gerrard and the Lockdown season is already wearing thin.
Ferguson can usually be relied on to provide upbeat content for Record readers, today wee Bazz struggled to hold back his despair over another trophy-less season:
It’s been a tough few weeks, there is no doubt about that. And what happened on Wednesday night hasn’t made the mood any better.
You don’t want to see a season ending like this. But, again, I’m not privy to what’s going on inside, so I’ll stay well clear of getting involved in any speculation.
All I know is that this was not the ending we had been hoping for as a club. Just a couple of weeks ago, when the post-split fixtures were announced I was excited and quietly confident. So to go down to four defeats in a row when it got to the nitty gritty?
That’s a horrible way to finish the campaign and it’s going to hurt all summer until the next one begins. How do Rangers make sure it’s not the same story in 12 months’ time?
Well that’s the question Danny has to answer over the next couple of months.
Fergie will be sitting at home poised with his boots cleaned and tracksuit ironed.
Since he stepped in as interim boss he has watched Russell Martin and now Rohl fail to impress in the job. Neither can be described as a Real Rainjurz Man.
Having tried so many different and failing options it must be time for the Tribute Act to give Barry the job.
Since Gerrard left in 2021 a Dutchman, Englishman, Belgian, Vegan/Buddhist and a German have been given the manager’s job. All have failed.
With the treatment of James Tavernier sparking a player revolt Rohl is creating fresh problems for himself. Perhaps he is working his ticket.
A multitude of issues are facing the third best team in the country over the summer months. The same issues as last summer. And the one before as well.
If now isn’t the time to put Ferguson in charge there may never be a better opportunity for the former Clyde and Alloa boss.

Time for Baz to get the old gang back together again. Comedy unit at the BBC could script his address to the people, wasn’t like this in his day.
Spent 40 million quid
Finishing 3rd in the league
Lost 4 games on the bounce
Fans turning against new owners
11 points off top spot
Knocked out two cups by Celtic
Hall of fame Captain walks out the door in the huff
So where’s all the CRISIS headlines ?
Well reading his so very accurate tips (I’m extracting the urine – Taking the piss)…
Let’s just hope Fergushun tips Hearts not to lose tomorrow and they then surely will !
Peer wee Barry Armband – can’t see beyond the end of his blue tinted spectacles. That said, while he might not be troubling MENSA for a membership anytime soon, he had SEVCO a damn sight more competitive than Russell the Vegan or the Würst Röhl have ever managed…..
Poor old Baz with the IQ of a weasel… time for a real rangers man to take charge really hoping he gets the job because it will break him mentally and end in hun tears again

Barry Ferguson’s horrors cope predictions didn’t rune true but looking at Stradivarius – the signs are he’ll be playing the violin again next season. Rohl hasn’t a Mystic Meg to stand on as he Russell Grant win anything which is becoming the paranormal with this club because it doesn’t have the prophets, wisdom or spirit to succeed.
The huns have gone through a gaze were it’s crystal clear balls-ups have happened and they druid anymore misfortune-tellers occulting. They are asking why must thee Nostra-damus to 3rd place and are now genuinely reflecting down on their visionaries and saying their soothsayers for diviners intervention as they’ve been waiting for sages that Sevco can cross palms with silver and win something, bad omens to that!
Nothing augurs well for Sevco while the Danny deClaired-voidant is manager, they’re psychic and tarot of him and glad to be seers the back of him and hope tea leaves and be replaced by another Uri Geller. There’s no foretelling what revelations will appear maybe it suits Barry to fight it out, get back on track, dematerialize and materialize so both well bridge the gap on Rangers Sevco.
