Celtic turned Martin Geissler into a hurting Jambo last night.
The BBC Scotland presenter hasn’t had the best of times recently.
BBC Scotland ran the campaign to get Anas Sarwar elected as First Minister. Even his own constituency rejected the poster boy for New Labour. Fortunately Sarwar returned to Holyrood through the back door, as a List MP.
Geissler lives off state benefits, drawing a salary from the TV license. With the younger generation laughing at that notion huge cuts are taking place at the BBC.
A decade ago Geissler could have been looking forward to a month covering the World Cup Finals.
Not now with cut backs. BBC Scotland will barely leave Scotland for their World Cup coverage.
Rather than interview fans in Boston and Miami Geissler and his colleagues will be pounding the streets of Govan, Cardonald and Kinning Park for vox-pops.
CELTIC RUIN THE DAY FOR JAMBO GLORY HUNTER
Yesterday Geissler took the Celtic Park ticket due to a loyal Hearts fan. Someone that attends matches week in week out, not a glory hunter.
Pre-match he was picked up by the Sky Sports cameras, 90 minutes away from the highlight of his life. A Hearts title win at the ground he detests most- Celtic Park.
In the end the man from the state broadcaster had a day of misery.
So miserable that he turned to retweeting the inaccurate comments of a fellow bear, bitter Jonny McFarlane from the Herald.
Never seen scenes like these.
But the time for that conversation is later.
For now, well done Hearts. What a season. Couldn’t be more proud. Onwards and upwards https://t.co/Zbq9StTn3c— martin geissler (@mmgeissler) May 16, 2026
No Hearts players were assaulted at the match.
Some were shouted at, it happens in every game.
There was no violent acts. Much like in 2016 when angry media messengers claimed that Sevco players were assaulted by celebrating Hibs fans. They weren’t.
The pitch invasion by around 100 fans detracted from the finale to the season.
Selfish Celtic fans spoiled the occasion for thousands of others that know how to celebrate.
But there were no assaults. No matter how badly McFarlane and Geissler wished that it had happened.
The fear kicked in on Wednesday night when Celtic beat Motherwell.
Fearing the worst Geissler called in some old pals to get the paranoid message out that Celtic run Scottish football. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Every Celtic success is achieved despite the hostility of the football authorities and the media. Geissler won’t be phoning anyone this week to question the motives behind David Roome raising his flag for offside on Daizen Maeda’s goal.
The refs verdicts are in:
“Bobby Madden, was that a penalty?”.
“No”.
“Steve Conroy, was that a penalty?”.
“No”.
Both damning on the decision, calling for an explanation from the SFA.
Their verdicts, not mine. https://t.co/pWBWY33k9r— martin geissler (@mmgeissler) May 14, 2026

Was Bobby Maddon the ref that spent his last year reffing in the English lower leagues? If it was it was his time was a disaster. During his first game in League One both sets of fans were singing “You don’t know what you’re doing!!!” Happy to be corrected.
Joe i watched game yesterday on TV and saw no Hearts players being assaulted… verbals yes but certainly no assauts so again the scummy anti Celtic media are telling porkies, reason heart’s left stadium so soon was McInnes and his celtic haters where hurting so bad and it’s glorious
Jim saw a hearts beeing touched as a fan ran past.Technically that could be classed as assault. But if that’s what they are classing as assault and leaving the ground in fear, for gods sake grow up
