Celtic players took inspiration from Tina Turner as they celebrated their SPFL title win.
For decades Simply The Best has been associated with the old Rangers club that died in shame 14 years ago.
It was a triumphalist song that tied in perfectly with the mindset of Rangers fans. Telling Tina Turner never made a single visit to the stadium.
In December 2024 Celtic’s League Cup win took them past the combined trophy tally of both Ibrox club’s.
The laughable claim of being the World’s Most Successful Club was embarrassingly ditched. Three trophies in a decade is barely more than St Johnstone and St Mirren have collected.
WHY CELTIC ARE SIMPLY THE BEST
That Hampden victory hurt deeply at Ibrox. Celtic fans were presented with an open goal.
Weeks later they were singing Simply The Best at Ibrox. In March they added Penny Arcade to their song book. Bewildered Ibrox fans could only look on in despair.

This season has been an epic from Celtic.
Every problem imaginable has been encountered. Almost all self-inflicted, under the guidance of Michael Nicholson.
From pre-season onwards there seemed to be a dedicated policy of self sabotage.
From wilfully weakening the first team squad to briefing against Brendan Rodgers it has been a season that no-one could have predicted 12 months ago.
That self sabotage peaked with the appointment of Wilfried Nancy in December.
After 33 days covering two wins and six defeats the Frenchman was emptied.
For the second time the club turned to Martin O’Neill to bail them out.
O’Neill II has been rocky at times but with seven successive victories the SPFL title has been won.
Celtic are champions of Scotland for a 56th time. More than any other club, alive or dead.
And with that the players were fully entitled to belt out Simply The Best as they celebrated in the home dressing room.
Next week there is another trophy to chase, only Dunfermline stand between Celtic and a domestic double.

Murray’s Bar in Dublin was rocking again today long after the final whistle. Same again in the Cup Final please. I picked up one useful snippet of information today….. HE WHO MUST BE OBEYED by everyone at Celtic Park may shortly be playing rounds of golf on the Great Golf Course in the Sky. He’s not well at all, nothing trivial by the sound of it. Could be the icing on the cake at the end of a harrowing season. Enjoy these days, they are special.
Today’s title win for me is even better than any 10 in a row that should we ever do,every pundit in Scotland and even throughout the UK had us dead and buried, just like the Rangers did in 2012.
Since Wednesday night all everybody did in the media, radio,tv stations news outlets was talk up Hearts for the title, all Hearts have to do is avoid defeat, tell me again how did that work out.
Now The Hun newspaper is running with the headline that the game should be replayed,or even just hand the title over to Hesrts due to the pitch invasion.
I did post that earlier,oh dear talk about clutching at straws.
But the press/media will run with this, especially when Hearts go all out by trying to fright the SFA with legal action, watch this space, the above points will gather pace over the coming days.
