GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - APRIL 19: SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell (L) and SFA president Mike Mulraney during a Scottish Gas Men's Scottish Cup Semi-Final match between Heart of Midlothian and Aberdeen at Hampden Park, on April 19, 2025, in Glasgow, Scotland. While Ian Maxwell and his fellow blazers enjoy their jolly to the USA the Scotland Women’s team will be playing sport with a nation behind Genocide.
For more than two years Israel has been wiping out Palestine. Sport appears to go on unchallenged.
With no justification UEFA accepted Israel as members in 1980.
In football terms they have added nothing. Failing to qualify for even the new look bloated European Championships.
SCOTLAND BOTTLE OUT WITH THE SILENT STANCE
The SFA recognise that Israel is a special case. They have given up home advantage, today’s match will be behind closed doors in Hungary. Utterly pointless.
The players have been put in an awkward position. They want international recognition but there will be some deeply uncomfortable with today’s opponent.
Standing up and speaking out isn’t going to do your international hopes any good.
This is where leadership is required.
Scotland has the gormless Maxwell as CEO. Someone with the charisma of Michael Nicholson surrounded by cronies telling him how brilliant he is.
Scotland captain Caroline Weir says players have discussed the issues surrounding their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Israel, but believes questions over the fixture should be directed towards football’s governing bodies rather than the squad. pic.twitter.com/uylH47k0UC

After five days in Florida the SFA party moves to New York today. Tomorrow Scotland face Bolivia in a friendly.
Then it is back to base in Fort Lauderdale before two jollies to Boston to face Haiti and Morocco.
After that it is back to Florida and a match against Brazil in Miami.
With not a thought given to the actions of Israel and the players in the front line. On June 9 Scotland will again face Israel in the away fixture, again being played in Hungary.
The SFA website makes no explanation over why both matches are being played in Hungary or behind closed doors.
The Nations League really is a non event in Womens football.
Scotland, Belgium and Israel are tied on six points with Belgium likely to top the group with their remaining matches both against Luxemburg.
BBC Scotland will show both matches live.
it’s not often i disagree with @itscarolineweir but each person must make their own decision about a #Genocide and not wait for organisations who are driven only by money and not morals pic.twitter.com/oTCc7ydeGs

Correct. You’re a disgrace playing this game @ScottishFA

Israel has kidnapped two female players from the Palestinian team, does Caroline think that would be an acceptable tactic deployed by the Israeli team in the up coming fixture and would she put herself forward as one of the abductees?

This kind of non-answer is not good enough. She’s the leader of the group and should help protect squad & Scotland from forever being branded by it’s association with apartheid Israel. If its left to the suits Scotlands womens team will never live down the shame. #stopthegame

One thing is clear as crystal…
Sevco fans in that Scotland team will be all over Israel Women…
Celtic supporters in will run for a mile down the tunnel at full time to not shake their hands…
And ‘The invisible man’ Maxwell will say the square root of F#ck all just like his doppelgänger brother at Parkhead – Lucan !
