Didier Agathe has had a busy week of Celtic activity.
On Monday night he was a half-time guest for the match against Dundee, taking a bow 20 years after his last appearance as a Celtic player.
He then followed that up with an appearance on the official Celtic podcast.
Great to see the club reaching out to a former player out of the spotlight.
Or was it?
Had it not been for one Celtic fan ‘podcasting from the loft in his parents house’ Agathe would have been out of sight, out of mind.
A fortnight ago no one at Celtic gave a thought for Agathe- among the best pound for pound signings ever made.
In among the huge signings made in 2000 Martin O’Neill spotted something in the winger/striker signed by Hibs on a short term deal from Raith Rovers.
The £50,000 spent by Celtic was a snip.
Agathe went in as right wing-back. An essential position in the 3-5-2 deployed by O’Neill to such success.

Of course, once you have left Celtic the club has no interest in you.
What’s the point? Goodwill doesn’t show up on the Balance Sheet. It doesn’t contribute towards profits and dividends.

An absolute f**kin liberty! @ACSOMPOD are not only persona non grata at Celtic Park, but apparatchiks of the regime have been actively contacting ex players to undermine the business. Effectively forbidding them from working with PJD, if they ever want to work for the club again. That’s what they’re spending their time doing, rather than doing their feckin jobs.
So, @PaulJohnDykes brings over Didier from feckin Bangkok and puts him up for a week, ALL expenses paid, to do a gig at Graces for 150 people. Do you think @ACSOMPOD made any money out of that? Now, that’s business. You win some, you lose some.
But, for Celtic to hijack Didier for flag day & a pod, is rank f**kin hypocrisy and typical of the back handed, undermining, sneaky, petty way in which they deal with fan media in general, and PJD in particular. Some very, very small men in this regime, focussed on entirely the wrong things.
Appointed by Peter Lawwell he left for the real world in 2016 to work for the R & A then DC Thomson before returning to the comfort blanket provided by the #celticfamily.
At big matches and trophy presentations McQuillan can usually be found lurking around in the background wearing a shiny suit
In February McQullian was one of the big hitters called in by Brian Wilson to attend a meeting with the Celtic Fans Collective.
Neither the club Chairman or Head of Commercial Operations knew who had made the decision to ban fan media.
Wilson promised a follow up meeting with the Collective within a month. They haven’t heard from the former Labour MP since.
It was noted in the Minutes that Wilson was doodling on his notepad while the meeting went on.

Editor: That article is entirely supportive of ACSOM and even more so knowing how the club has tried to marginalise it by putting pressure on ex players.

C’mon Joe, I like your humour and views but to use ACSOM for content while avoiding personally mentioning them is poor. Almost every comment has so you could too. Maybe you’re after a job at Celtic 🙂
Editor: If you miss the mention of ACSOM and the irony of how they are viewed from the darkside and by Celtic there isn’t much that I can do for you. PJD often refers to that same description.

Our club did rip off ACSOM by using Didier….absolutely shocking as MON would say….we are an embarrassment of a club from top to bottom. Sack the board and not another penny until these buzzards are out. HH

The club could / should have offered to contribute to Didier ‘s expenses incurred.

Some people clearly missing entirely what the article is about, and who it supports and who it doesn’t. TBH I didn’t think the article was vague or unclear, and I got the point in first quick read, so not sure how you could conclude it’s anti ACSOM, when it’s the opposite.
