When it comes to finances Barry Ferguson maybe isn’t the best person to ask.
Loyal Barry returned from Blackburn Rovers in 2005 for a token salary with millions diverted into an offshore Trust set up by David Murray and Paul Baxendale-Walker. Roll up, roll up.
That one didn’t work out too well.
Undeterred Ferguson piled in on a Film Investment Scheme that was a sure fire winner.
Invest in the British film industry, tax free of course, sit back a few years then watch the profits roll in. Tax Free of course.
Wee Barry was cleaned out by it. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth pushed the Ibrox legend into bankruptcy because he refused to pay her.
That scheme also wiped out Duncan Ferguson, Danny Wilson and others.
In short Barry doesn’t really understand investments. He’ll always put his hand up for new money schemes but working out what is going on has never been a strength. Unlike dot-to-dots and colouring in books.
Ferguson does know about football.
And because two players come from the same country they must surely be exactly the same. Like Arne Engels and Nicky Raskin.

FERGUSON LOGIC EXPLAINED BY DUMMIES
Explaining the lack of transfer activity out of Ibrox Ferguson said:
If you look at the squad, the glaring one is Nico Raskin.
He had a really good World Cup for Belgium. Is he going to stay or going to go? You’d be looking at between £15-20million for Nico Raskin.
You are not selling him for £10million.
He’s a Belgium international and I know he never started the first game but I thought he was probably Belgium’s best player at the World Cup.
He’s worth at least that (£20million). If Arne Engels is going for more than £25million, come on. Nico is better than Arne Engels.
Only in your eyes Barry, unfortunately.
There is little demand for 5ft 6 non-scoring midfielders that will be 26 at their next birthday. Wee Nico still dreams of joining Chelsea.
? If Celtic want £25m for Arne Engels then Rangers star Nicolas Raskin is worth even more says Barry Ferguson ?https://t.co/AFnXl5bLlj pic.twitter.com/oftyvkjt08

For the benefit of Barry, Engels is 22 years-old and a serial winner. With 10 Champions League appearances to his name.
Raskin is 25 years-old, after three and a half years at Ibrox he has won nothing. Even Todd Cantwell and Jack Butland have a League Cup winners medal to show for their role in The Banter Years.
Engels also has 18 months experience of playing in the Bundesliga. He is bigger, stronger and more successful than the pint sized Belgian midfielder at Ibrox.
Despite the self inflicted troubles at Celtic Engels has won two SPFL titles, one League Cup and one Scottish Cup.
In contrast at Ibrox Raskin has helped Micky Beale, Phil Clement, Russell Martin and Danny Rohl get sacked.
Most bears think that Derek McInnes will be gone by Halloween.
Raskin did of course make a few appearances at the World Cup Finals. Unfortunately for Ferguson you can’t be transferred from one country to the next.
Celtic are likely to receive around £25m for Engels this summer.
A £10m bid for Raskin should be welcomed like a lottery win.
Instead, using the logic of Ferguson they will hold out for £25m plus add-ons as another season as wasted as Raskin follow follows the route taken by Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.

Morelos at least has a club, Kent is ‘unattached’ again at age 29, having made 19 appearances since he left Sevco 3 years ago. Some trajectory for a £7m player. I was going to suggest he’ll be window cleaning or driving a taxi before long…. but he’s probably still young enough to get a job at McDonald’s!
There will be a huge media campaign to sell him or Chermiti in the couple of weeks
Ex hun players and their media monkeys going all out on it
Raskin was nutmegged twice in 10 mins in one game at the WC.
One of the most overrated players of the last 20yrs in Scotland.
And there’s been a few.
