The Celtic B team hit the goal trail with a 5-3 win away to Renfrew in the Lowland League West.
After four matches the young hoops have picked up seven points with a goal difference of 14 for and 8 against.
In terms of getting young players playing time in a competitive environment it is proving worthwhile.
Whether it is developing first team ready players is another matter.
Now playing at this level for a sixth season Colby Donovan is the only player to have come through the ranks to join the first team squad.
Dane Murray has played in the Lowland League but was out injured for two years before spending the first half of the 24/25 season on loan at Queens Park.

Renfrew’s third goal was a penalty converted by Alan Cook following a foul on former Auchinleck star Argyll McCoist.
DEVELOPMENT AND FIXTURE SCHEDULE FOR CELTIC B
Liam Kennedy captained the Celtic side, at 17 he impressed in the first team friendlies against Shelbourne and Sporting Lisbon.
Two of the more experienced players, Kyle Ure and Francis Turley were missing from today’s team.
So far Celtic have yet to commit to any Co-Operation Deals which would allow three players to go out on loan to a club in each of the SPFL divisions.
Aidan Rice and Owen Hartington are out on traditional loans to Dumbarton in League Two.
This afternoon they both started in the 1-0 home win over Clyde.
On Wednesday Celtic start out in the SPFL Challenge Cup with a tough looking match away to League One Hamilton. Next Saturday they are away to Dalbeattie Star in the Lowland League West.

Can´t believe that no one in the club insisted that the B team could progress through the pyramid if it was to continue in the Lowland League ?? IF the kids could see a point of continuing then maybe the performances (carrot on a stick) could possibly improve? With Maloney in the dug out I assume that no one is taking the player pathway role ? The possible Co Operation deals MUST be arranged BEFORE the end of the window surely? All of these questions COULD be answered obviously if we had a DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL??
For me, if the club wants firstteam ready players, the first thing they should insist on is a fully operating reserve league.
If the best of the youth teams were playing in a full reserve league like all teams used to have where theyre coming up against men trying.to get back into their own first teams it can only help them. Does nobody think we it coincidental that we have hardly had any new talent break through since the league collapsed the reserve league? Theres no way it cant benefit the lads. For all teams. Look at osmand after starring in the epl2. He came here ready for it and has grasped any opportunity when its arrived
The reserve league was discontinued because Rangers couldn’t afford to run a reserve team. It is one of the things that needs to be changed in Scottish football, alongside having bigger leagues it is probably one of the simplest things that would improve young Scottish players.
For God’s sake Turkey was playing , if you are going to do a piece get it right
