Celtic fans have been warned that the club faces being kicked out of UEFA competitions.
That was the answer given to a question about the lack of spending as key members of the Board met with the Affiliation of Registered Celtic Supporters Clubs.
It is a truly ridiculous answer with Financial Sustainability Regulations simply a UEFA box ticking exercise that is barely applied.
Clubs have to fail to comply over a number of seasons before the first sanctions are applied. A token fine is issued with their UEFA squad reduced from 25 to 23.
Clubs pushing it in UEFA competitions see it as very worthwhile if they are picking up £60m or more from the Champions League.
THE UEFA SCARE STORY FOR GULLIBLE CELTIC FANS ONLY
It would require the most ridiculously reckless spending spree by Celtic over at least three seasons to come to the attention of UEFA.
As things currently stand almost all clubs across Europe would be sanctioned before Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay get summoned to the naughty step by UEFA.

Above in an extract from the WhatsApp summary of the back slapping ceremony.
Nicholson, McKay, ‘interim’ Chairman Brian Wilson and hangers on such as Mark Hargreaves and Kevin McQuillan attended a meeting with the Affiliation of Registered Celtic Supporters Clubs.
Having joined the Celtic Fans Collective last September the Affiliation took a vote to withdraw earlier this year.
Getting an audience with Nicholson was their reward for withdrawing.
Tea and biscuits were served with the Executive of the Affiliation reassured that they were all right good Celtic men and valued members of the Celtic family.
Pt. 4 is a red herring. ? Uefa don’t limit spending. Can spend big if you balance this out with saleable assets. And can have (-) net spend for a few seasons if need be.

As has been traditional for almost a year Nicholson/Wilson/McKay admitted that there was a problem with club communications.
Not really something that the Affiliation could pick up on. They haven’t tweeted since January 4 while their website is now home to Indonesian gambling.
THE FAMILIAR TIRED EXCUSES AND DEFLECTIONS FROM THE BOARD
All of the tried and failed excuses were peddled out at the meeting.
In summary they want 3-4 signings in before the Champions League Play Off. Having managed two in 11 weeks getting 3-4 looks ‘ambitious’ with just a League Cup tie at Dundee United to bed them in.
Some signing targets in the media the board hasn’t heard of. Almost all of the players mentioned in the media are from countries in UEFA’s top 25. There are no duds and projects from the Korean Second Division.
No NED at Easyjet has ever used the Easyjet website to trash a senior employee as Chris McKay wrongly claimed to justify Dermot Desmond’s personal attack on Brendan Rodgers.
Apparently Brian Wilson remained as a Director because Brendan Rodgers resigned. There is no connection between their positions, fellow board members Peter Lawwell and Tom Allison have since departed the gravy train.
Paul Tisdale has been replaced by 5 or 6 analytics people. The fact that they don’t know how many says a lot. Quite a shift from a Head of Operations to five stats geeks joining up every area of the club.
THE COMPLETE FAILURE OF CELTIC RECRUITMENT UNDER NICHOLSON
Nicholson claimed that not all transfers were reactionary listing Kuhn, Nygren and Tierney. We can assume then that most other transfers were reactionary including flops like Inamura, Yamada, Tounekti, Balikwisha, Yang, Tilio, Palma, Holm, Nawrocki, Holm and the rest.
Then it was on to tickets and the price of pies.
Finally the board want to freshen the stadium up. It is unlikely that will involve hot running water outside of corporate hospitality areas.
After the February 18 meeting with the Collective Brian Wilson promised a follow up within a month.
The former Labour MP hasn’t replied to any communications from the Collective since that meeting.
As soon as the Affiliation publish the full minutes of their meeting this site will publish them.

Either the board are really bad liars and trying to pull the wool over fans eyes or they really believe that. I truly don’t know which is worse. Magic Mike better pray for a win over LASK (at this rate of squad investment we will need divine intervention) as the protests will be another level this year.
Horrible sleakit grey accountants who think fans are stupid. So out of touch, it’s breathtaking
Interesting stuff. 2nd meeting with fans recently, it’s a start… but a slow one
If the financial uefa nonsense is to be believed regarding Celtic spending money on new players, I’d like to see Nicholson explain exactly how SEVCO are spending money on players with losses every year since being shat back into Scottish football from the rotten corpse of the old rangers.
I think they fail to understand fans can read the rules. They can create losses of £20 million per season over 3 years, so there is 60 million, plus the profits made over those 3 years circa 30 million, as this window stands they are stil in profit. So they could in fact spend, 90 to 100 million and not be in breach of the UEFA guidelines. And that could be increased by any further sales.
These parasitic bastards think the fanbase is as stupid as they look !
Do they not realise that every red herring claim they try to introduce to try to muddy the waters around their total incompetence can be fact checked in a matter of minutes ?
They truly are without equal in all their dealings so I guess they really are world class in something.
It’s heartbreaking, but also the funniest thing I’ve read in ages.
People who “think” they are clever, trying to talk clever, in front of people who they consider “not as clever as them”, but who actually are “pretty fucking smart”. It fails every time.
What I find incredible, a bit like the P****e A****w TV interview, is that they must have thought this was a good idea, and their answers would be accepted.
Jaw dropping arrogance.
Blatant disregard for the fans.
the club they are paid to look after.
Criminal negligence of their duty to look after the club.
Editor: Delighted to provide the sort of content that Celtic’s partners at the Record, Sun and Herald won’t go near.
And great to provide a platform for comments that all help expose the patronising contempt of the club Executives.
Lying, incompetent arseholes
Stop your excuses nicholson theres clubs all around spending big money i hardly think what we have spend would get us thrown out btw nicholson its the only time you speak in any form is when you make excuses for not spending money do us all a favour and resign
When the affiliation withdrew from the Collective they left themselves wide open to this kind of shithousery. Hell slap it into them. Getting gaslighted by a bunch of robbing liars that are destroying the club they claim to support.
Why did they do it ?
Editor: The all powerful appeal of tea and biscuits and being told you are the pure bestest Celtic supporters. Very powerful for some.
Once more the board have won ,the ST money is in , merchandise still being bought, too late to complain about this summer transfer window, the board have got their money they don’t give a f**k about supporters as nicholson has just proved by treating the fans like infantile idiots, boycott games is the only weapon we have left if we want to see change,at least this year we won’t get humiliated in the CL because I don’t think we will beat LASK.
It does of course refer to NET spending, not merely outlay itself…… they really must think the people they are talking to are as thick as the orcs – people who believe in imaginary billionaires from Motherwell, the altruistic intentions of someone with self-described big Yorkshire hands and the incoherent ramblings of Pedro Caixinha!
it’s the affiliation , they arse kissers still believe in Santa Clause and the tooth fairy , the board will tell them anything and they’ll lap it up
