Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports has tweeted that Oliver Sorensen is undergoing a medical ahead of signing for Celtic.
The Danish midfielder played 34 matches in Serie A last season and is expected to join Celtic on a season long loan deal.
With Arne Engels sold to West Ham there is a clear lack of physicality about the Celtic midfield.
With 24-year-old Sorensen standing at 6ft tall that issue should be addressed by the fifth signing of the summer window.
Celtic have agreed a deal to sign Parma midfielder Oliver Sorensen.
It’s understood the clubs have agreed a season-long loan deal for the 24-year-old.
Sorensen is due to undergo a medical with Celtic today and is then expected to finalise the paperwork on his move.

CELTIC PREPARE FOR A HECTIC PERIOD OF TRANSFER ACTIVITY
The Italian transfer window closes at 8pm on Tuesday which will ensure a rush of activity over the next 34 hours.
Celtic have been linked with a number of midfielder in recent weeks but Sorensen was a fresh link this morning.
With Kasper Hogh already at Celtic there will be a definite Danish influence in the dressing room and on the pitch.
Sorensen spent three seasons at Midtjylland before moving to Palma. So far he has yet to play for the full Danish international side but has picked up 15 u-21 caps.
It looks like Celtic are in for a busy couple of days as they make up for lost time in the transfer window.

Celtic hold an interest in Southampton right-back Yukinari Sugawara. But it’s understood the player is uncertain whether a move to the Scottish champions is the right one at this stage of his career. Celtic are looking for someone to fill that position until Alistair Johnston is back from his injury (around the end of October) and then provide cover in that area.
Camilo Duran was the first Celtic signing of the summer. Joining from Qarabag on July 10 and starting the season with five goals.
Hogh joined ahead of the SPFL opener at home to Dundee. Followed by Mika Baur and Haissem Hassan ahead of the deal to sell Engels.
The Hassan deal was completed on August 12, one week before the home tie against LASK.
A goalkeeper and back up left-back are expected to be signed ahead of the UEFA deadline of 11pm on Wednesday.
Celtic are also expected to move a few players on with Reo Hatate and Johnny Kenny the favourites to move on.
I wonder is that the end for any deals for Sigur and Gineitis then? I would like at least one of them as I can’t see us signing the boy Devenny from Crystal Palace as premier league wages would surely be a problem for us.
I believe Gineitis is still on the radar but it appears we’ve cooled on Sigur! Still dallying on cover for KT at left back and AJ at right back. Sigur would have been good cover for AJ.
Still can’t understand why Celtic let Sarrachi slip away.
Good to see Celtic are now ramping up their transfer dealings. But is it quantity they are buying or quality the ages of most brought in tells me they are potential future profit buys. Perhaps at the moment it might have been better going for more established players?
Editor: The transfer window has been an utter failure. LASK proved that, now to try and avoid the embarrassment of chucking it away in Scotland where three teams failed to make it through Conference League qualifiers.
We need quality first team ready players in a good few areas of the park in defence midfield and out wide it’s very important this is achieved!
Good to see that Celtic are remaining consistent in their operating strategy regarding Transfers. Having sold some established First Team quality players and generating a surplus as per their policy and generating a surplus to increase their non available kept under lock and key capital they are now looking to populate the first team squad with loans in order they may squeeze another league title this season and potentially get through at least one of the European Champions League qualifying rounds.
