Jeanette Findlay has fired back at Stephen McGowan after his personal attack on the leader of the Celtic Trust.
Assessing the turmoil going on at Celtic McGowan turned his ‘thought piece’ in the Herald towards the Celtic Trust.
Apparently the Trust indulged in ‘performative student-union grandstanding’ with Findlay leading a band of wounded brothers.
That makes for easier writing than looking into the issues and the Chairman that abandoned the 2025 Celtic AGM after less than an hour.
To be fair to McGowan he has been in a league of his own with news in and around Celtic for 23 years.
@JeanFind @heraldscotland @mcgowan_stephen He’s a board stooge. Says what they want him to for access while Celtic don’t let their fan media in. Bollocks to him. Compromised and lame as fuck.

THE HORRIFIC 2025 CELTIC AGM
The 2025 Celtic AGM was no more robust that Prime Minister’s Question Time every Wednesday at Westminster.
There was some booing and jeering but no un-parliamentary language.
When challenged on a few issues Chairman Peter Lawwell seemed to fall to pieces. Some have suggested that he was afraid of Michael Nicholson being questioned for the first time in a year.
Findlay made a point of order asking for the 20 minute video presentation to be scarped to allow greater questioning.
Lawwell responded by requesting that the microphone at the podium was switched off. He then adjourned the AGM for 30 minutes.
It seems that Lawwell is very sensitive to questioning, a few weeks after abandoning the AGM he announced his resignation as Celtic Chairman.
Brian Wilson looks like being Chairman for the 2026 AGM which is expected in the second half of November.
One topic of interest will be the appointment of Mark Keane to the board when the Nominations Committee was reduced to just one member. More than two is required to be a Committee.
The club is required to give Shareholders three weeks notice for the AGM. This year will mark the 20th anniversary of Dermot Desmond’s last appearance at a Celtic AGM.

I attended last years AGM. I agree that the supporter walkout was a student union protest of the 1960/70s. It was childish.
That said I was amazed at how poorly Lawwell chaired the meeting. The behaviour was not out of hand. It may have been uncomfortable but someone more used to public meetings could have handled it better. Ross Desmond’s performance was plain daft.
The thin skin and inability to handle criticism reflected the overall lack of ability of those at the top.
No Board can hide from the catastrophic financial loses over the past 5 or so seasons and those loses are a direct result of Boardroom incompetence. Throw in the reputational loss to Celtic it is staggering that there has been no review of the Board to address the fully justified opinions of the support
The Board deliberately prevented the 2025 AGM progressing. Avoiding scrutiny/questions was the desired outcome, with their objectives achieved, courtesy of the Chair. With shareholder supporters falling into last year’s trap, everyone should be better prepared this year. Once bitten …!
As it stands just now: why would anyone think that this year’s AGM would be any better?
Assuming it’s not online, then Wilson [?] has to be on the ball to manage the meeting effectively,
and through to its conclusion this time.
Another aborted AGM wouldn’t do anyone any favours, at all.
