Thousands of Celtic fans streamed onto the pitch- fresh lies from Brian Wilson’s newspaper pals
The Edinburgh News has published an incredible account of the aftermath of Celtic beating Hearts to win the 25/26 SPFL Premiership title.
Pride of place goes to the claim that thousands of Celtic fans streamed onto the pitch.
Even the excitable and imaginative Pat Nevin didn’t go that far as his hatred of all things Celtic spewed out over BBC 5 Live as the title was decided.
The content from the Edinburgh News is what would be expected of an excitable fan on a message-board.
Instead it comes under the banner of Scotsman Publications, graced by Celtic Chairman Brian Wilson every Saturday as he lets off his frustrations about the SNP.
Back in May Celtic sat back and allowed their media partners to publish and broadcast all sorts of ridiculous claims about the match.
It took less than three minutes to clear the pitch of supporters.
Three weeks after the match Wilson told Celtic TV
Well, we took a a conscious decision in the immediate aftermath of the season and the Hearts game in particular. Not to join in exchanges of words with with anyone.
We were celebrating winning a double and we were not going to get bogged down in what actually was an absurd series of of debates about issues which didn’t really exist. And one by one they’ve been chopped off.
Except they haven’t.
They are still being pushed by Celtic’s media partners, Wilson’s paymasters at The Scotsman.
MEDIA OPEN SEASON ON CELTIC FANS
Meanwhile it seems that there is almost media silence on the attacks on Celtic employees and fans at Ibrox on March 8.
Once a month a report emerges of two men being charged with no detail given, not even the team that they support.
There is one subject guaranteed to get a reaction out of Celtic. Tennis balls on a golf course.
Perhaps at a push there was 400 on the pitch, going OTT to double that is still well under 1,000.
But it suits the agendas to claim five months later that something happened which didn’t. Pat Nevin is regularly employed by BBC despite his known issues.
The report adds:
Police Scotland are dealing with evidence and aiming to prosecute as many people involved as possible.
They are certainly taking their time. Five months on and no video evidence has surfaced of an assault on a Hearts employee. Thankfully there has been no other incidents in Glasgow since mid-May worth investigating such as far-right gatherings promoting racist clearances.
The one fan charged was found guilty of Breach of the Peace. Several hundred other people have been found guilty of that across Scotland since the ‘carnage’ at Celtic Park in May.
The Edinburgh News added:
The Tynecastle side promptly left the stadium and their team bus was given a police escort out of Glasgow while Celtic continued celebrating inside the ground.
The Hearts bus would have been escorted onto the M8 less than a mile from Celtic Park. A little less dramatic than the war-zone tone of the article.
Hearts issued a statement later that night and said the scenes had shamed Scottish football. It read: “Heart of Midlothian utterly condemns the shameful scenes at Celtic Park this afternoon which have, once again, embarrassed Scottish football.
“Reports of serious physical and verbal abuse towards our players and staff, both on the pitch and elsewhere, are deeply disturbing. We are investigating this fully and are in dialogue with Police Scotland.”
Since all of the players/casualties were on the team bus that returned to Tynecastle Hearts would be able to clear up the extent of the injuries suffered.
FICTION PASSING FOR FACTS!
As there were no injuries suffered they preferred to go with ‘Reports of serious physical and verbal abuse towards our players and staff’. Basing club statements on the comments of Nevin isn’t a smart move.
BBC Scotland were unable to find any evidence of contact on Hearts players by Celtic fans.
The article is then padded out with reusing comments from back in May as Scottish football mourned Hearts losing a football match 3-1.
Despite losing 8 out of 38 SPFL Premiership matches Celtic finished above Hearts to claim title 56.
Much to the despair of Brian Wilson’s friends at The Scotsman group.
The last known print circulation of the Evening News was 5,070 in 2024. Since then Scotsman Publications have kept circulation figures private.
On Sunday The Scotsman and Evening News/Edinburgh News will be given media access to Celtic Park to produce more of the same content.
Wilson’s latest attack on the Scottish Government will appear in Saturday’s Scotsman. Aimed specifically at ‘outraged from Morningside’.

Our club might not be able to compete with other clubs when trying to attract top players,
but the club definitely has the funds to attract top CEO’s from across Europe.
Probably not from the top clubs in the top 5 leagues,
but most CEO’s across Europe should in theory, be within reach?
Especially CEO’s of smaller, ambitious clubs like Bodoe/Glimt, Club Brugge, etc…
£17K a week should certainly get the interest of many experienced, ambitious CEO’s,
and who could also bring their own contacts list from across Europe?
The club is definitely not getting value for money from our current CEO.
Stick Nicholson on the transfer list ! 🙂
This is what happens when it’s sevco like Trump like BOOTLICKERS running the press.
