Storm Beolo hit the west coast of Scotland with winds of 85 mph on Saturday with many football matches affected.
Morton v Ayr United was postponed, the games that went ahead produced some spectacular scenes with the ball failing to roll freely on pitches that looked waterlogged.
Travel across Scotland has been badly impacted with numerous train services cancelled.
Despite all that it seems that the worst of the storm passed through the night
At 7.45am this morning the BBC website provided the following weather forecast
Latest forecast for Edinburgh, Fife & East of Scotland
Last updated 17 minutes ago
Today
Today will remain very windy. The far north will see outbreaks of blustery rain. The west will have frequent showers and a risk of thunder. Fewer showers elsewhere. Turning brighter in the afternoon.
The forecast for Edinburgh from 12 noon predicts a 65% chance of rain with winds of just under 60mph.
Whether that is enough to postpone the match will be decided by match referee Ryan Lee who is believed to live locally.
Sky Sports covering matches always seems to be a factor but it isn’t unknown for televised matches to be postponed.
Martin O’Neill will put weather related issues aside this morning as he prepares for the trip to Easter Road.
Under the Irishman Celtic won twice at Easter Road last season, Celtic go into the match with a record of 15 wins from their last 16 SPFL matches.
Thursday’s Europa League defeat from Celta Vigo will have an impact but O’Neill has some additional options today.
Jota, Shim Mheuka and London Emenalo are available after being left out of the Europa League squad.
Alistair Johnston and Cameron Carter-Vickers could be involved after featuring in training at the end of their injury rehab.

Funny that they won’t want to clog our fixture list under the guise of ‘safety must come first’…
Especially after Sevco getting their job done with what looks like ease yesterday !
