Celtic Chairman Brian Wilson has been explaining why the club wishes to have the option to stage an online AGM.
This year’s AGM will be staged on December 1 at 12 noon but will be preceded by a General Meeting in which the club will push to have the option to host AGM’s online.
A move like this has been expected since Chairman Peter Lawwell’s disastrous handling of the 2025 AGM which was abandoned after less than an hour.
A vote will have to be taken on the option of holding an online AGM.
There can be no doubt that if given the power to hold the AGM online Celtic will make use of that every year.
Wilson explained that the club would always prefer an in-person AGM. Not many fans trust the promises of a former Labour MP.
As it stands the AGM with 34 minutes set aside for a Question and Answer session is the only time in the year that the Board are held to account.
Removing that saves Michael Nicholson from ever having to face supporters.
The club statement explained that the General Meeting will include:
Permit the Company to hold future general meetings physically, by electronic means or a combination of the two and certain consequential changes to facilitate this amendment. Alongside this, if a physical meeting is adjourned by the Chair, the New Articles would provide that the adjourned meeting can be held online when it reconvenes.
CELTIC CUT OUT CONNECTION TO FANS AND SHAREHOLDERS
In a cynical move to give the impression of accountability Wilson, Nicholson and other club officials met a specially selected group of 120 fans in Greenock.
Back in July the club pulled a similar stunt in Cork, served up the same excuses for failings at every level and congratulated themselves on box ticking for fan engagement.
Celtic haven’t held a Fans Forum since May 2025.
In July, without consulting and fan groups they made one statement about Celtic Connect. No social media activity was undertaken to highlight another box ticking exercise.
Celtic Connect will result in one fan from each of the four stands at the stadium being invited to three meetings a year to hear Wilson, Nicholson and others explain their plans for improved communications, the difficulties of transfer windows and continuous failures in European football.
Wilson is in his 11th month as Interim Chairman with not a single rumour of any credible candidate to take on the role.
Finding someone that wants to Chair the club in its current state is proving very difficult with Ross Desmond the only other option.
NOTE: The AGM comes between away matches at Tynecastle and DensPark
Should Celtic have the power to hold their AGM online
YES- Keep the fans in their place
NO- They can't hide all year round

It wouldn’t surprise anyone if they pull that stroke but Celtic fans are just the plebs to them remember and how any happy idiot clappers still think they’re not doing anything wrong OmG.WAKE UP
HUNT THE LOT OF THEM!
EMPTY SEATS.
The Greenock session served its purpose then, prior to arranging a virtual AGM.
So predictable.
So pathetic.
Talking about taking the piss, then shiting on top of you and rubbing it in.
These chancers are getting away with this because the 60,000 minions and others that continue to back them up every other week by putting money in the pockets of this board are to blame,so the board are playing a blinder.
So no more complaints please until the crowds hit the levels of when the Shyte’s sorry Whyte’s had been charge.
That’s the level that needs to be reached before change happens.
