Biram Kayal: I didn't move to Glasgow- I moved to Celtic

|

Biram Kayal Celtic newsBiram Kayal has admitted that he’s been bowled over by his relationship with the Celtic support.

The Israeli internationalist made an instant impact in his debut against Utrecht with his amazing appetite for the game; winning challenges he had no right to added to his dominating, forceful midfield play.

A three month absence due to a hernia injury ended in the new year with the midfielder not looking back since helping Celtic to a 2-0 win over Rangers at Ibrox.

Kayal’s performances have attracted interest from the biggest names in the Premiership but the 22-year-old is in no rush to abandon his adopted home from home.

“I didn’t move to Glasgow I moved to Celtic, I came here to play for Celtic and I’m very happy with that,” he told Channel 67 viewers. “Everyone at the club has helped me and it feels like I have been here a long time.

“When I play I try to do everything for the fans and the club and that feels fantastic.”

Last Saturday Kayal was given the captain’s armband and returned another commanding performance against St Mirren.

Manager Neil Lennon seems to have found a kindred spirit in the former Macabbi Haifa midfielder with the admiration mutual.

Kayal added: “One hour before the game (against St Mirren) the gaffer told me that I would be the captain and I felt fantastic.

“I’ve only been here for a short time but feel at home, I feel like I’ve been here a long time. Not many players get to be captain after six or seven months at a club and that makes me very happy.”

Love the man, he’s got the lot, if we can hang onto him for three seasons and build the team around his workrate and skill we may just do something in Europe.

  • Bhoy oh Bhoy says:

Completely agree with you Jbhoy. He’s a brilliant player but also has the hunger, passion and guts to become the driving force behind this young, bright team. Hopefully keep him way beyond 3 years, but realistically that’ll be tough. One thing seems certain though- he’s gonna leave Celtic a proud man adored by the fans.

brilliant player, fights for everything, even on the rare occasion he loses the ball he makes the opposition player work hard for it, well done mr lennon for bringing this guy to paradise.

  • Maccabi Haifa says:

Proud. hello everyone, i’m fan of Biram’s former team, Maccabi Haifa, and i’m proud to see his success so far. i’m realizing that only from reading your coments. I hope his injury from the last match is not sirious cause Israel has a very important game against Latvia.
