No loan sollutions

Europa League Celtic news Inept, uninspiring, over-rated and overpaid. Yes, it is the backlash of another shambolic European by our beloved team. It hurts me to write this but I felt I had to after watching such another disappointing Celtic European performance.

Sion to me are an average side and the fact is our team were not good enough to beat them over 180 minutes.Celtic may still get a reprieve through the back door if Uefa find Sion guilty of fielding ineligible players.

Would we take this, of course we would but to reach the group stages by default is no way for former European champions to qualify for the group stages of the second tier European competition.

In the last 20 years there have been too many sore defeats to take, away from home we have been a shambles,1991 Neuchatel Xamax 5-1, 2001 Porto 3-0, 2004 Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0, 2005 Artmedia Bratislava 5-0, 2006 Benfica 3-0, 2010 Braga 3-0, 2010 Utrecht 4-0.

So what happens now- do we try and rush players in within the next few days or do we run with what we have.

Kelvin Wilson looks promising but without doubt he needs a centre half to play alongside him as Glenn Loovens Daniel Majstorovic are not the answer. Up front we look short and it would be good if Dermot Desmond, Peter Lawwell et al decided to loosen the purse strings and buy the players required to stop our rivals securing 4-in-a-row.

I really do not know how fellow supporters feel but all the talk of us bringing loan players in really riles me. It never works out, Ronnie Keane, Dion Dublin and Diomansy Kamara all coming to our club for a payday.

Celtic really need to hit this on the head as to me a loan deal should only ever be used as an emergency signing possibly to cover for an injured player.

With Rangers also going ot of Europe Celtic will not be the only club being criticised by the media and supporters but does that really matter to us as all it does is deflect from our deficiencies?

I would love to have the solution to the dreaded away performances in Europe but unfortunately I don’t and unless we are bank rolled by a major investor like most of the Premiership teams then I am sorry to say that our current standing in European terms certainly could be with us for a good while longer.

I do hope that I am wrong– what would the Lisbon Lions make of it all?

From reading the previous article on your site, it seems that even a Swiss lunatic- Baron Constantin- can run a football club better than our board.
    Maybe that tells us something.

Don’t give the current crop of idiots on the board any ideas paranoidandroid, or our NEXT signing will be “Mad Vlad” as chairman, CEO and chief talent scout!

I’ve been asking for years how the highest-paid “professional” footballers in Scotland can get away with repeatedly failing to produce results….And how teams who have to operate on a tenth of our budget can just as repeatedly turn these “professionals” over.
