Willie Collum Celtic newsWillie Collum will be in charge of Celtic’s home match with Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday.

It’ll be Collum’s third SPL match of the season and the second involving Celtic.

Collum’s first SPL match of the season was Celtic’s 2-0 win at St Mirren where he disallowed an early goal from Anthony Stokes for no apparent reason.

The only non Celtic SPL match that the eagle-eyed whistler has been in charge of this season also involved Inverness Caley Thistle in their home match with Hearts.

Calum Murray will referee Celtic’s League Cup tie at Ross County on Wednesday night with Iain Brines taking charge of Rangers trip to Dunfermline on Saturday.

Euan ‘spot-kick’ Norris will referee Saturday’s match between Forfar and Dumbarton and has only had one SPL appointment since he refereed the Inverness Caley Thistle v Rangers match earlier in the season.

  • Joe McHugh says:

The more European games that Collum gets, as the golden boy of the SFA, the more likely he will be to be found totally out of his depth.

A few seasons with the juniors would do his career the world of good, he might develop a basic understanding of the game, might.

  • Krys says:

He had his usual penalty & red card combo when he was on European duty last week too. From what I could tell, it was a dive.

I cannot stand this man as a referee.

  • Stevie says:

Just what we need right now another game with W Collum in charge. Well I hope the Celtic support let him know how we feel about this joke of a ref right from the start of the game. He’s to anti Celtic to even pretend fairness. Personally I don’t trust any Scottish official.

  • Tam says:

It’s a bad when we start to get annoyed who the referee is when we are about to face Inverness CT at home.

I take it we have a “good referee” for Wednesday’s game at Ross County since nobody has moaned about him?

Lets start worrying about the standard of players who represent Celtic these days.

The referees have had nothing to do with any of our defeats this season just players not good enough for Celtic. Four “big” games, four defeats.

    • bhoylondon67 says:

Nobody has blamed referees for our league losses, we know they were not to blame, that doesn’t mean a bias referee like Collum won’t be happy to deny us points on saturday.

When we are not good enough our support will admit it, when we are robbed by bias our support will say it, that’s not making excuses, just saying it as it is.

Couldn’t agree more, Tam. Only games we have been involved in have been heavy defeats and a home
    0-0 draw.

I moan about referees and laugh at Rangers financial plight with the best of them but it is becoming increasingly ridiculous when they have been Champions for three years running and absolutely battered us on Sunday.

It is time Celtic concentrated on football and actually putting a capable, determined team on the park to win football games. Praying for refereeing injustice and our rivals to go bust as possible solutions to our problems is not the way to go.

  • Joe says:

We are from a small-minded bigoted country and this is never going to change.

  • bhoylondon67 says:

Most bias referee in the league, another Mccurry.
