Emilio Izaguirre is on course to be back in the Celtic team by the end of November.
The Honduran internationalist broke his ankle against Aberdeen at the start of August and has started a seven week programme to complete his rehabilitation.
“I think my back every day, but I hope to recover as quickly as possible to keep me happy because I love playing football,” he told Honduran newspaper el Heraldo. “I particularly want to play a match in the Europa League even a few minutes.”
Looking back at the injury he suffered at Aberdeen the full-back admitted: “I felt the fracture that day, I remember all too well, it was a Sunday and I was operated on a Thursday.
“I lived a very difficult time because I knew what was happening with me when I was attending but I’m grateful to God that I strained my ligaments.”
“I was really disappointed but I said the that the time that I was sidelined would be good for my family. My relatives have given me much encouragement. I could spend time with them.
“This injury has allowed me to spend more time with my son than if I was playing football-maybe it was time for me to spend more time with my family.”
Celtic’s final Europa League match is away to Udinese on December 15.

Very determined, dutiful and accepting of the inevitable downsides that life throws at us. Its unusual these days to point to a role model in football.
They are very few. Tommy Burns, Paul McStay, Henrik and BBJ spring to mind but i really have to think hard!
I always felt the same about Izzy, he definitely have that same professionalism and hard working attitude, always a gentleman on the pitch and positive. Hopefully those Henrik like qualities will see him return from his leg break just like the king of kings, stronger and more determined. HH
