Terry Butcher referee newsTerry Butcher took his side’s 2-1 defeat to Rangers on the chin despite seeing two good penalty decisions waved away by referee Bobby Madden.

A handball from Nikita Jelavic went unpunished by Madden who also missed a second half incident when Kyle Bartley appeared to pull Billy McKay with the game still goal-less.

Butcher’s after match rants have become legendary since taking over at Inverness but after today’s match he claimed that the officials had had an excellent game despite denying his side two penalties.

We don’t get penalties – 20 games this season and not one penalty,” the Caley Thistle boss said. “It is an unwritten SPL rule. It is part of the constitution that Inverness don’t get penalties. That’s a joke.

“I thought they were legitimate but the referee didn’t think so. I thought Bobby Madden and the officials had an excellent game.

“The game could have gone either way and Rangers were hanging on and wasting a bit of time at the end which says we were doing pretty well.”

Just to make it interesting could a referee not just be impartial, just for once? It’s not even annoying anymore, it is just tediously boring, everyone expected this to happen, it was a guarantee with the Derby just around the corner. Zzzzzz

Get the incidents on dvd and off to UEFA.This is match-fixing ! Same old ! I rang Hunsound on BBC and of course didn’t get on,The entire show (as you probably know ) was exempt from any discussion of the Rangers “good fortune” and instead concentrated on the trivialities in Italy. Were those guys Tic fans or Rangers agent provocateurs ?

Once again the TRUE face of Scottish football is exposed….
Blatant cheating goes unchecked….Butcher…who I can’t stand…backs off from ranting and raving about the ref. ‘cos his beloved Rankers are involved.
    Someone…seriously…needs to highlight this…
    it’s getting beyond a joke.

Did anybody really think Butcher got into the Scottish football hall of fame for football reasons.
Bhoycott of away games is the only way to put right all that is wrong in Scottish football unless we’re happy just to make up the numbers.
Nothing will change untill we collectively force change.

Sorry, what?! Those two sentences can’t possible go together unless one if them is said sarcastically.

By my reckoning, two handballs by Jelavic gave Rangers three points instead of none. He got away with the clearance first half, and the opening goal also had him control it with his hand.

The only thing I saw the officials get right was the offside.
