Craig Whyte Rangers newsAt the end of another day of high drama at Rangers absent chairman Craig Whyte has vowed: “I will be back.”

Nine days after being put into administration STV are reporting that the unpaid tax bill since Whyte took over is closer to £15m than the £9m first admitted to by administrators Duff and Phelps.

Late this afternoon Gordon Smith and Ali Russell were axed by the administrators leaving a serious gap in executive decision making at the crisis hit club.

Whyte hasn’t made an appearance at Ibrox since the club went into administration but faced with mounting criticism and supporter anger he contacted the BBC to confirm that he won’t be walking out on Rangers.

“I will absolutely be back to finish what I started at Ibrox,” vowed the Motherwell-born businessman

“No one else was willing to step up and save the club and I have only ever had the good of the club at heart.

“In terms of the new figures suggesting the PAYE and VAT bill is more in the region of £14m as opposed to the £9m, those figures don’t stack up as far as I’m concerned.”
