Pressley banned after referee outburst

|

Steven Pressley newsSteven Pressley has been hit with a four match ban for his antics during and after the League Cup Final defeat from Celtic last month.

Despite enjoying the good fortune of seeing a perfectly good goal from Gary Hooper disallowed the Falkirk boss decided to confront referee Euan Norris as the teams left the park at half time.

Pressley was forced to watch the second half from the stand before questioning Norris after the match.

“The two pivotal decisions in the game went Celtic’s way,” the bairns boss claimed. “And we paid the price for that.

“I just wanted justice for my players, the issue for me is would it have been given in the other box? That’s the question for me.”

It’s not known if Pressley provided the SFA panel with an explanation or apology for his comments.

Speaking to Celtic tv later in the week Neil Lennon described the disallowing of Hooper’s goal as one of the worst decisions given against him as Celtic manager with two Falkirk defenders playing Hooper onside with the six yard line providing the assistant with further help.

Neil is definitely right. Worst decision I’ve ever seen!

Got to say Pressley deserves every game of his ban. I find it unbelievable that he did not see any slow motion replays of the incidents he complains about before abusing the referee. Simple facts are that Falkirk got off very lightly indeed and he SHOULD have kept his mouth shut about decisions. Falkirk got the benefit of at least 2 major decisions yet he chooses to ignore them.

Better to keep you mouth shut and let people think you are fool than to open & confirm it.
