Neil Lennon has singled out the Green Brigade for special praise on the day that Celtic were presented with the SPL trophy.
Once again the bhoys in section 111 led the stadium in song as Celtic hammered Hearts 5-0 with Gary Hooper scoring all five goals.
Throughout the season the Green Brigade have been unstinting in their backing for the team and Lennon despite having plenty of issues of their own to deal with.
As well as their vocal backing the banners of the Green Brigade have become a topic of conversation with a great mixture of humour and topicality.
After being presented with the trophy today Lennon walked from the centre circle towards section 111, placed the trophy on the ground then bowed to the delighted fans.
“I just wanted to say thank you to them because week-in, week-out, they have created a great atmosphere,” the Celtic boss explained. “They sing non-stop, they add colour.
“Sometimes they are a little bit controversial but in the main they have behaved themselves impeccably.
“They have changed the culture of the stadium. It´s a fun place to come for supporters and the atmosphere over the last two years in some of the big games has been fantastic and they have been the catalyst for that.
“The noise, the singing, the pride – it’s all there now. I´m delighted with that. It was missing for a few years and I think more than anything, the fans have their pride back.
