internet Celtic newsArchie MacPherson will join three ‘internet pampots’ in Blantyre tonight to discuss and debate the burning issues in Scottish football.

Lisbon Lion John Fallon has arranged another Q and A night at the Columba Club with the bampots represented by the heavyweight trio of Phil MacGhiollabhain from Donegal, Paul Brennan of Celtic Quick News and Paul McConville of the Scotslawthoughts blog.

Last month a similar event proved very informative as the Rangers crisis unfolded with the panel providing an honest insight into current events as well as gazing into the crystal ball to discuss what’s around the corner.

The discussion also touched on the different approaches of the mainstream media and the independence of the ‘bampots’ who’ve consistently set the pace with revelations over the state of affairs at Ibrox. Who would have guessed last summer than Rangers would be liquidated with a virtual unknown from Yorkshire fighting the case of the new club to be invited into the SPL?

How the issue will impact on Celtic will also be discussed as will the clubs’ silence on the matter while other SPL clubs go public with their views.

With Dundee United and Hearts voting no to newco the big vote on July 4 and it’s aftermath are likely to be at the forefront of tonight’s debate.

The Columba Club is easily reached on from Blantyre or off the M74 at Uddingston with Fallon ensuring that the evening runs without any hitches.

Tickets will be available at the door, questions start at 7.30pm, or by phoning the Columba Club.

Spoke to Archie on Radio Clyde many times. An absolute gentleman even when he didn’t agree with callers, not something you could accuse 99% of pundits on that show.

Wonder what SuperScoreBard will do now that Rangers are out of business.

You’ve got a lot of fans out there Archie.

I’m reading Archies Jinky biography ‘UNDEFEATED’ at the mo. A very touching understanding and insight into the Wee Mans footballing life and the effects of the terrible illness on Jimmy and his family leading up to his sad passing, from someone who comes across as a good friend.
