SFA cave in to Sevco to grant conditional membership

|

Stewart Regan Celtic newsThe SFA have once again demonstrated their complete disregard for supporters and the laws of the game by providing Sevco with a conditional membership following two weeks of negotiations.

This will allow Sevco to face Brechin City in the Ramsdens Cup on Sunday but since the licence is only conditional a Sevco win could be meaningless if they are not given full membership of the SFA.

No where in the Articles of Association for the SFA is there a mention of conditional licence but not for the first time the ruling body appear to be making things up as they stumble along regardless of what the rules state.

The SPL’s investigation into dual contracts remains open with Charles Green showing his contempt for tonight’s deal by vowing: “The view of the club, the fans and indeed newcomers like myself is that those titles and those games were won fairly and belong to this club. We will fight it to the finish.”

Laughably on April 25 Regan claimed: “The Scottish FA has a responsibility to all its members and must implement its rules without fear or favour.”

While today’s negotiations were going on Sevco had former Scotland striker Kevin Kyle join Ian Black and Craig

Why a governing body needs to negotiate with a new club that fails to meet membership criteria is difficult to fathom but with Stewart ‘slow lingering death’ Regan involved anything is possible.

Regan fought valiantly to provide Sevco with an SPL place then attempted to come up with a cunning plan to provide a First Division place with both being overwhelmingly rejected by the member clubs.

Any other club attempting to gain SFA membership without any audited accounts would have had their application rejected by email but on the eve of the new season the SFA have spent a fortnight trying to come up with a deal or package that suits themselves and Sevco.

There were calls for a vote of no confidence in Regan on July 13 when SFL clubs rejected his attempt to catapult Sevco into the First Division.

With Brechin, East Fife and Peterhead due to face Sevco over the next fortnight Regan is once again showing his contempt for the clubs and supporters that make up the majority of the Scottish game.

I obviously don’t share your outlook on this Joe. One thing, the SFA membership is solely “conditional” on the RFC’s SPL share being transferred to Dundee for the start of the season, thereafter it is a “full” membership.

There is an interview with CG (I’ll link below). From that, there are to be no redundancies at Ibrox, which is good news, TV rights have been handed over to assist SPL in discussions with SKY, Robbie Savage gets a mention, EBT issues still to be resolved.

So Brechin on Sunday! On BBC Alba as well, I’m assured subtitles will be provided if Allan Hansen makes an appearance.

[GSW is a fan of Sevco]

when will the real courts become involved?
This is a parody of law and legislation!
The team formally known as Rangers is no more and soon to be wiped off the history books (or is it?)
If FIFA, UEFA do not get involved soon it will only show that coruption and silly handshakes abound!

Rangers have DIED! It just seems so long for the burial to take place, Much sympathy must be given to all the mourners, But thankfully, some time this week they will be laid to rest, Their old much maligned followers, can now start afresh, and follow follow the new team sevco.newco,T,rangers or whatever they want to call themselves, and must look forward to winning their FIRST trophy, legally I hope! Anyhow, all the best for the Future, give my regards to the poor unfortunate people from Brechin

What happens if Newco don’t meet the conditions and they don’t get membership? The games they will have played will be undone creating even more of a mess! The sheer arrogance of these people! I include all of the footballing bodies in that statement as well as Newco, trying to trade as Oldco and getting away with it. This whole charade is utterly depressing.

I’m at the point where I’m about to walk away from football entirely, as are many of my family members (some of whom are ST holders – all of whom buy merchandise). The football regime in this country is worse than a Columbian drug cartel because at least they are honest about what they do.

I await the outcome of the double contracts and all the other legal niceties as well as waiting to see whether FIFA/UEFA and the legal authorities will allow this whole farce to continue. Once that is all done with then I will know my position clearly, but as it stands I can see me turning my back on the whole game.

It saddens me deeply that me and my family are forced into this position just to enable cheats and addicts. I will be writing to all of the footballing bodies and Celtic FC to explain my actions. I will no longer attend any games – I’m not a ST holder because I can’t afford it at the moment and illness has been keeping me down, but that is temporary and I have always tried to attend the games that I can (home and away. I will also never attend another Scotland match nor buy any merchandise (club or country), which I buy a substantial amout of; and I will never subscribe to satellite television again (only wanted for the sport). It it almost at that point.

I cannot pay into a corrupt game where all the bodies involved, whether sporting or corporate, countenance what is going on in Scotland. Will it make a difference, probably not? Will they care? I doubt it. Apparently, the only people cared about are Rangers Oldco fans being carried over into Newco.

However, I can no longer justify watching a game that is so corrupt and rigged in favour of one team, or any team for that matter? It will probably one of the most painful things I’ll ever have to do but I can’t see any other way.

Charles Green’s take on the RFC situation is the equivalent of Norman Bates in Psycho keeping his mothers dead body and believing she is still alive.
