Fraser Forster the great wallFraser Forster could miss out on Celtic’s next two matches against Dundee United and St Mirren.

Lucasz Zaluska stood in for the Geordie against Hearts yesterday having played 90 minutes in midweek against Steaua Bucharest.

Forster has been troubled by a neck injury with Celtic taking no risks with the keeper with the first leg Champions League tie with Juventus just over three weeks away.

After the win over Hearts Neil Lennon revealed: “Fraser has a problem with his neck. He’s trained the last couple of days, but it cramps up. It may be a disc problem.

“We are hoping it can be resolved in the next week to 10 days. He has gone for a scan and we are waiting for the results of that.

“It is nothing serious, but it was enough for us to say ‘Don’t play in this one’, and he could be a doubt for Tuesday as well.

“Lukasz has been unlucky the season. He lost one goal to a huge deflection against Arbroath and then another one here.

“I thought he did great for us. He deputised very well and the guys in front of them defended very well.”

Development team keeper Robbie Thomson made his first ever appearance on the bench yesterday with Forster’s injury coming just after Lubos Kamenar’s loan spell at the club ended.

Zaluska looks certain to line up against his former club, Dundee United on Tuesday night as Celtic seek to extend their lead at the top of the SPL to 12 points.
