Ally McCoist has launched an astonishing attack on Charles Green following his side’s narrow 2-1 League Cup defeat at Forfar.
Rather than deal with the shortcomings on his players and discuss his EIGHTH cup exit in 24 months the Sevco boss turned on his former chief executive who has returned in a highly paid consultancy role.
Following on from McCoist’s claims last weekend that his side were as well equipped as any team outwith Celtic to win a cup Green repeated that boast in today’s edition of The Sun.
With hopes of Hampden glory buried by Forfar, McCoist turned his attention to Green- 12 months after urging supporters to back the Yorkshireman by buying season tickets.
After the defeat the popular former Question of Sport skipper responded to Green’s comments saying: “The self-acclaimed straight-talking Yorkshireman has again let himself down.
“His contempt and total lack of respect for my players, for our football club, for our support and Scottish football in general is appalling – and he is an embarrassment.
“If it was a threat then the self-acclaimed straight-talking Yorkshireman should know that boys from the West of Scotland don’t scare easily.
“If he does come back, I’ll certainly go and pick him at the airport. I won’t have a problem doing that.
“It’s just more hot air that we’ve come to expect from Charles.”
The once friendly relationship between Green and McCoist seems to be broken beyond repair with the current Ibrox boss letting off steam about the Yorkshireman who has returned to the club in a wide ranging consultative role.
“Our players picked up the newspaper at breakfast to be reminded they’re the worst team in Rangers’ history,” McCoist added.
“I’ll tell you, that would be bad luck – to have the worst Rangers team in history and the worst chief executive in history at the same time. That’s downright bad luck.
“Instead of concentrating on the match, their minds are elsewhere and they’re worrying about their jobs. Because, let’s face it, if he’s said we don’t win a cup and we go, then some of the players would be under threat too.
“As team-talks go, I don’t think it was one of Charles’ best.”
McCoist’s views on the worst manager in the history of Rangers and Sevco are unknown.
Last season Spanish striking sensation Franny Sandaza was sacked by Sevco for comments made to a so-called football agent that later appeared on the internet.
Green is unlikely to shy away from McCoist’s attack with the future of the £850,000-a-year manager now under threat.
McCoist’s criticism of Green appeared briefly on the club website under the heading ‘Contempt for our club’ before being removed.

Throw in the worst manager and the worst fans and that’s certainly downright bad luck.

This whole Sevco episode has kept his glaring inadequacies as a manager out of public discussion. . If Neil Lennon had a small percentage of the failings Sleakit has had, the media would have been hell bent on seeing him lose his job long ago.

I was hoping with the new season having just started, that we could get back to talking & debating football again,focusing on positives, as much as I love them Zombie lot hurting and devouring one another it’s all getting seriously annoying now.
Look at poor Forfar, nobody is talking about their remarkable achievement today, I find that very sad. Part timers defeating the club with the 2nd highest wage bill in Scottish football, probably the highlight of those lads/fans careers/lives.
A record number of season tickets have been sold in the Spfl this season, St.Johnnstone flying in Europe, Celtic have £40 odd million banked, Dunfermline fans & Hearts fans digging deep and working tirelessly to right previous wrongs, its progress, albeit slow progress, but this mob just keep bringing a dark cloud tove us to block out the ray’s of sunshine breaking through to brighten up our game.

McCoist has tried almost every trick in the book to get fired. But it isn’t wrking. He is trying so hard to get out without quitting because, he “doesn’t do walking away”.
But I would like to correct the writer just a little. While Ally has managed to coach his clubs exits from cup competition eight times in 24 months, it s fair to say it has been with two different clubs. He was with that old club who used to be called rangers before they were liquidated into non-existence or oblivion, the other with a new club, Sevco, or The rangers.
Not the same.
So McCoist Has done better than you think. He has not only managed two clubs, he has managed them out of every cup both entered over two seasons, and now into a second with the new club. Keep trying Ally, you will get fired eventually and be able to point fingers at everyone except you.

What a manky, sleekit, pondlife bunch that club is. It is all being drip fed to the surface AGAIN. I truly believe they are heading for meltdown and they are finished as a force in Scottish football for at least the next 20 years.

When Sevco scored against the mighty FORFAR yesterday I thought the commentator on Radio Scotland was going to have a heart attack. He was apoplectic in his excitement. I can only assume that he is now lying in a darkened room with a bottle of sleeping pills at the thought of his team being stuffed AGAIN!
