willie collumBlundering Willie Collum was the target of criticism from Aberdeen and Inverness Caley Thistle as the two teams drew 2-2 at Pittodrie.

Last week Collum was slated for awarding penalties to Falkirk and Sevco as the Bairns won 2-1 with Scotland’s Euro 2016 ref giving another below par performance today.

Two minutes into the second half Aberdeen were furious when Inverness were awarded a penalty with Greg Tansey converting to put the visitors two goals ahead.

Despite a goal from Niall McGinn in the 73rd minute it took a stopage time penalty from Adam Rooney to give the home side a point with Caley Thistle boss John Hughes angered by that decision.

John Hughes said: “Danny Devine is in there adamant that the ball hit him in the midriff, but I will reserve judgement on that because I think Willie is right up there with the best of officials.

“I just hope he’s got it right. It would be hard to take if it wasn’t, and I’m quite sure he has. We’ll hold our judgement until we see it on the TV.”

Derek McInnes said: “We lose a penalty kick at the start of the second half and it’s not a penalty for me. The boy has jumped into Paul Quinn and Paul hasn’t done anything.

“He’s not tried to impede him, so for me it is a really soft penalty. For me, the referee hasn’t got a clear view of it because of Ryan Jack’s position.

“The linesman should help him there. I’m not exactly sure who gave it, so it makes the task more difficult and, at 2-0 down, it looks like it’s going to go against us.”

“We should get another penalty in the last minute when Carl Tremarco handballs it and, at the very least, we deserved a draw.”

It seems that regardless of his performances, with game changing mistakes on a weekly basis Collum is routinely given the top domestic matches to referee.

On Wednesday he will referee the Dundee v Celtic match at Dens Park which will be televised live by BT Sport.

Poor refereeing has always been a part of the modern Scottish game, the fact it hasn’t improved with too many under par performances from referee’s proves that there is a lack of investigating into why performances are poor when in my opinion if there was more scrutiny on refs then referees would raise there own game and improve,it probably happens but refs should be made to analyse there own game and give a rating on themselves to the refs association.

Aye Seamus, but remember its the S.F. of A. that were talking about here, you know them that are still back in time aprox. 1690 i believe. Thems that no nuffink about the 5way agreement Resolution 12 , its the same club or company or whatever. It will never modernise until we get rid of the Hun loving shite that govern us.
On a lighter note, looking forward to tomorrow, hope i see wee budgie.

The SMSM like to alert UEFA when so called Celtic fans let off flares maybe they could send them a montage of all Collum’s mistakes, it would be a long film.

Collum is the best of them given his selection to go to France next year………….the best of them!

Week after week awarding penalties incorrectly or sending off players who are subsequently cleared on appeal, and he is the best…….the SFA marking system is a joke, then again everything that the SFA touches is a joke.

McLean and Muir are still officiating…..that tells you everything you need to know about how the game is run in Scotland. 2 officials suffer temporary blindness at exactly the same moment in a high profile game………oh and the irony of the refs being sponsored by Spec Savers.

Watch McLean and his mate being wheeled out again if another Operation Stop The Treble is required.

Hi this guy keeps making massive errors in big games and he still gets to ref in those occasion why is that. Previous ref who constantly make massive mistakes get punished for example John rowbottom in the past. Why is this guy so immortal that s big question

Who can forget him awarding Sevco a penalty against Celtic when he had his back to the incident. Let’s not kid ourselves, we will face many more of these decisions in the future.

The commentator on the streamed Aberdeen TV said in disgust at the end of the game “collum is an absolute joke of a referee”

He blew the whistle for half time when it was an Aberdeen corner. He did the same at full time, it went out for a corner and he blew the full time whistle.

So I thought he only had an agenda for the masons but who knows what he was instructed to do yesterday by the lodge. Blatantly corrupt refereeing anyway.

All the same I’m glad the sheep didn’t win

Come on you boys in green, let’s pump the swine today!
