Neil Lennon watched from afar as Hibs demolish Motherwell 4-1 at Easter Road yesterday.

The new Hibs boss was on pundit duty at the Euro 2016 final in Paris but tuned in to watch his side via Hibs TV

New signing Grant Holt was on the scoresheet alongside Jason Cummings, Grant Holt and James Keatings as the Edinburgh side prepared for their Europa League tie with Brondby on Thursday.

The build up to the match had been dominated by Lennon’s fall out with Scott McDonald over a transfer to Easter Road but it was on the park that Hibs dominated despite Marvin Johnston opening the scoring for the visitors.

Cummings equalised in the 17th minute with assistant manager Garry Parker delighted by his side’s form ahead of the match against Brondby.

Afterwards Parker said: “It was a good performance, everybody played their part, scored good goals and thoroughly deserved to win. We have to be ready for Thursday. We’ll train for the rest of the week and look forward to it.

Let’s not get carried away – this was a friendly and Thursday will be a different test. But we’ll have a go at them. If we play like we did against Motherwell then, fingers crossed, we can get the result we are looking for.

We’ll be at home, we’ll have the fans behind us and, after watching this game, I think we have a chance if we play to our tempo.”

Brondby travel to Hibs on Thursday having knocked out Valur on a 10-1 aggregate.
