Wacky Kenny Miller believes that Sevco have the squad to take the Premiership title from Celtic!
While Mark Warburton was pleading for new players after getting turned over by Burnley Miller is convinced that the current Ibrox squad will be preparing for Champions League qualifiers in 12 months time.
It seems that a couple of wins over Stranraer, Annan and East Stirling has worked wonder for morale with the veteran goal machine counting down the days to a first title party shared with tax-paying team mates.
“I don’t think anyone has shirked away from the fact we want to win the league and I feel we have a squad capable of it,” Miller told the Daily Record.
“There’s no doubt we showed in the one-off games against Premiership opposition last season that we are more than good enough.
“We have beaten a top six team already in the cup this season and we are ready and prepared for the season ahead.
“You can look at the games we had last season against higher level of opposition and we’re in a stronger place, with a stronger squad.
“Competition for places is going to be great, which will be healthy for the club moving forward. There’s only one aim and that’s to win the league.”
The SPFL computer has been kind to the club from Ibrox providing them with Hamilton and Kilmarnock in their opening matches, either side of a BetFred Cup match against Peterhead.
Miller faces a battle for a place in Mark Warburton’s side with highly rated Leicester kid Joe Dodoo battling it out with Martyn Waghorn to plunder the goals on route to the Premier flag.
The former Scotland striker will celebrate his 37th birthday this season but many shrewd observers reckon that he still has the same touch on the ball as he had in his prime years.
