Kieran Tierney can’t believe his luck at sharing a dressing room with Kolo Toure.
The young full-back loves watching football almost as much as he enjoys playing it and has watched and admired his new team-mate in action for Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Although his best years may now be behind him there’s no doubt that Toure still has top level ability and experience in bucket loads to pass on to team-mates.
“Kolo is already a leader, his experience is second to one,” Tierney admitted. “He’s been to a Champions League final, he knows how to play at this level, so with me and Eoghan beside him, and it’s probably not easy playing with two young guys, and yet he helps us all the time.
“You saw with his runs that he is skilful. Kolo has a bit of everything. What he has achieved in football is amazing.”
Tierney added: “I trained with him on his first day, it was actually just the two of us training, and even then I could tell just how experienced he was by the way he spoke to me.
“From that day I knew he was a great guy to have in the team and in the dressing room. The way he commands the team, how vocal he is, is really impressive.
“I had a knock and he was just in so it only two of us out there but even the way he went about his fitness training, so dedicated, so committed, was brilliant to watch. Straight away I knew what he was like and that he was someone we needed in the team. He’s been a great signing.
“Kolo is not arrogant at all. He’s actually the complete opposite to that. He couldn’t be more normal. He helps everyone young and old. He’s just a great player to have at Celtic.”
