BT Sport are set to get tough with the SPFL over Sevco’s failure to co-operate with the broadcaster.

Friday’s match between Inverness Caley Thistle and Sevco was broadcast without any comments from Mark Warburton robbing the station of one of it’s key features.

Getting the after match comments of the former city trader would have given the BT pundits some talking points and an insight into Warbo’s thoughts for Sunday’s BetFred Cup semi-final with Celtic.

With Warbo keen to be viewed by an English audience it seems that the decision to snub the cameras was taken at a higher level inside Ibrox.

After the Craig Thomson affair earlier this season it’s believed that BT Sport are getting fed up with the small minded attitude of many within the Scottish game and the inability of the SPFL to deliver on their side of the deal.

Whether the SPFL have the guts to warn or fine Sevco remains to be seen with mystery surrounding the £250,000 fine passed onto the club from Rangers EBT years.

Further complicating the issue is this Sunday’s match with Celtic which BT Sport will broadcast anticipating full co-operation from both clubs.

A couple of interviews with players and coaching staff will be expected to form the build up to the match but that element is largely down to goodwill and common sense between all parties.

With those elements absent from the present Ibrox PR regime Neil Doncaster is in for an uncomfortable week trying to satisfy one of the key investors in the Scottish game.
