Dave King has snubbed Mark Warburton’s plea to hand new contracts to Kenny Miller, Clint Hill and Barrie McKay.

The South African based criminal made a low key visit to Ibrox yesterday with Warbo, who used to work as a city trader, stating the case to hand out new contracts.

Golden oldies Hill and Miller have been papering over the disastrous summer signing programme while Mackay is the only player to have shown any sign of improvement under the rookie Ibrox boss.

King is furious that the money wasted on Joey Barton, Nico Kranjcar, Jordan Rossiter and Philippe Senderos hasn’t managed to achieve even a draw with Celtic as the hoops surge 22 points ahead of last season’s Scottish Cup Finalists.

In November Warbo was told at the club AGM that there was no more money to be spent but that hasn’t prevented the Ibrox boss from talking in public about new contracts for three players.

King steered clear of the cameras during his brief visit to Ibrox with no good news to pass on as Warbo attempts to keep Miller, Hill and McKay happy against the brewing financial crisis.

It was a regular board meeting, there are communications going on with the powers-that-be,” Warbo explained to The Sun.

I give honest feedback on the players. That’s all I can do — with those two or three players you’ve mentioned, the fact I pick them week-in week-out tells you a lot about the players.

We’ve a squad of 21 players and I think Kenny has played 95 percent of the games.

Clint has probably played every other game since getting his fitness, likewise Barrie McKay. All I can say from my point of view is that we give feedback, we communicate, and the players have been outstanding for us.

The way we work here, the agents have been on contact with the club.

I’m obviously not going to divulge private information but I’m sure there is dialogue going on and they are two very, very important squad members.

I understand where people are coming from on this but they are two very important squad members who I hope very much are here for the longer term.”

Warbo has brought in two loan signings to hold off the challenge of Aberdeen but claims that he has money to spend if he can find value in the January window.
