Catalan wonderkid Jon Toral is in no rush to join the Mark Warburton revolution.

Since news of Sevco’s interest in the 21-year-old emerged he has been described as a cross between Xavi and Iniesta with a bit of Fabregas thrown in for good measure.

Five appearances for Granada this season would suggest that Jordan Rossiter is a better comparison although Toral appears to be the solution to all of Sevco’s problems.

A ‘done deal’ has also been reported with Toral expected to make his debut in the glamour friendly away to Red Bull Leipzig.

Despite all the hype and speculation Toral seems unfazed by the sudden attention and spoke about seeing what happens in the next few weeks.

Last night he told the Daily Record: “When there is interest in you from such a big club then it’s always good but that’s as much as I can say right now.

It’s not easy to talk about it because I am still a Granada player and we have a a game to prepare for on Saturday against Real Madrid, so my thoughts are on that. But if it happens, it happens. We’ll see in the next few weeks.

I would rather speak about this later. I think it would be disrespectful to speak about other clubs now while I’m in Granada and I’m training with them. I’m a team player here, a squad player and I don’t think it’s right to talk about other teams right now.

If I have to leave then it’ll be different but right now I’m just thinking about the game against Real Madrid so I apologise because I can’t say too much more at this moment.”

It seems that Warbo’s negotiations have excluded the player who appears content to have a bit part role with Granada.

Having previously played for the former city trader at Brentford Toral seems in no rush to develop his career alongside Andy Halliday and Jason Holt.
