Chris Davies has revealed the dedication that has made Moussa Dembele the most valuable 20-year-old in the game.

Last week Chelsea enquired about the striker but failed to follow up their interest when they were told that it would take £40m to get around the negotiating table.

Three goals in the Champions League and a starring role in the French u21 side has put the spotlight on Dembele.

Davies has worked with the striker for seven months and sees the same levels of dedication and intensity that has taken Brendan Rodgers to the highest level in management.

Dembele has a clear career plan and won’t allow any distractions or £40m bids to knock him off course.

Moussa started at PSG, came to Fulham, felt that was the right thing for him, came to Celtic and thinks that’s the right thing for him to develop,” Davies explained to The Sun.

He’s made some good decisions, all with this belief that he’s going to be a top player but Moussa works hard, it’s one thing believing or saying that — but you have to actually deliver.

He’s a player that loves football, watches a lot of games, he has got a real interest and passion for the game. You can talk to him about different strikers, different games that were on.

He enjoys studying the game and he’s got all the potential to progress but there’s a humility there, that he knows he has to keep working hard and hopefully he can then progress.”

Dembele missed Celtic’s wins over Hearts and Aberdeen due to a knee injury but was given the all clear after having the injury assessed in London on Tuesday.

Rodgers will make a late decision before deciding whether to pick the Frenchman for this afternoon’s match with St Johnstone.
