Kris Boyd fears that Sevco will NEVER challenge Celtic for trophies.

At the start of the season the Kilmarnock striker reckoned that there wasn’t much of a gap between the sides after Celtic won the first derby 5-1. Boyd highlighted a shot from Barrie McKay that went past the post in his explanation.

With a 33 point difference between the clubs next Sunday’s derby match could see the official ending of #goingfor55 with Brendan Rodgers side already strong favourites for next season’s honours.

Twenty-seven days after Mark Warburton’s ‘resignation’ Sevco are still looking for a replacement as Celtic power on.

Concerns about the lack of leadership and money within Ibrox are now being aired with Boyd waking up to the grim reality of life without tax scams to prop up a challenge to Celtic.

I worry that Celtic are so far in front of Rangers right now the glory days will never return to Ibrox,” the Rigby Park goal ace told The Sun.

Just last week Rodgers was speaking about how he could go out and spend £7million on a player if he wanted.

If that’s the truth — which I don’t doubt — then I can’t see Celtic being caught any time soon.

But you just have to look at the power and influence Rodgers has at Celts to see how they have got it spot on.

There’s no director of football at Celtic Park. That’s because there’s only one man who needs to decide on who comes to the club, and that’s the one who picks the team.

There are no outside influences, no one looking to get in on a deal, and make something out of it for themselves.

I look at Rangers and it seems like the DNA of the club is lost, that its identify has eroded away to nothing.”

Boyd added: “Ally McCoist got slaughtered when he was manager, but I got his way of thinking.

Coisty signed players he believed understood what Rangers was all about, men who could instil that character into the younger players coming through the ranks.

It didn’t work out for him, but there was method in what he was attempting.

Caixinha is a completely unknown quantity, and making him Rangers boss doesn’t make any sense to me.

If he comes in then time will tell how well he does — but for me there is just something not quite right about all of this.

Caixinha isn’t a RRM, McCoist is and walked away in December 2014 with his side more than 10 points behind Hearts after being knocked out of the Petrofac Cup by Alloa.
