Club 1872 have woken from their slumbers to launch an attack on Chris Sutton and Keith Jackson.

The so-called Ibrox fans group have been decimated in recent weeks with six out of seven directors walking away including fans favourite Craigy Houston.

With Dave King the subject of Court of Session action over his failure to comply with a ruling from the Takeover Appeal Board and John Gilligan walking away from the blue room it would seem that Club 1872 are more concerned by the content of the Daily Record!

Rather than deal with the chronic issues facing their favourite company, in the finest traditions of the fans who let their club die in 2012, Club 1872 turned to the deflection game.

In a statement from Supporters Voice Limited, a Club 1872 company, they claim: “Sutton, who still appears be haunted by the memory of Helicopter Sunday, has been one of the worst offenders. A man who was an abject failure as a manager and is an even worse pundit, has been given free rein on both BT Sport and on the pages of the Daily Record to wage a witless campaign to undermine our new manager. If this is the best the media can do for commentary on our game then it is in a worse state than anyone feared.

The Daily Record’s Keith Jackson, unwelcome at Ibrox for several weeks, has now concocted an excuse to criticise Pedro for taking the time to pose for photos with fans after winning the last game of the season. Pedro was not celebrating a mediocre season – he was rightly taking time to acknowledge the efforts of our supporters.”

It’s believed that less than 1,000 fans are subscribing to Club 1872 with James Blair, also company secretary for the holding company vehicle, the sole surviving director.

Elsewhere in the statement Club 1872 gives it’s full backing to Pedro Caixinha in much the same way as they supported Mark Warburton.
