Patrick Roberts plans to be available for Celtic’s Champions League clash with Anderlecht in a month’s time.

The winger injured his hamstring in the 1-1 draw at home to Kilmarnock and has missed the last two matches.

Brendan Rodgers suggested that Roberts would be out of action for 4-6 weeks but after resuming outdoor training the on loan Manchester City kid is looking to be back in action at the start of January.

I’m back outside running and jogging so I’ll hopefully be back soon,” he told The Sun.

With the international break I can rest and recover. I’ll be looking to get back to training with the squad when they’re all back.

It’s just about getting back to full match fitness so I’ll be building that up over the next week or so.

It was a shame to miss the last two games. Everyone in the squad is happy to have contributed towards the unbeaten record.

Our mentality and willingness to win every game has got us this far. The manager installed that in us from the get go.”

James Forrest stepped in for Roberts against Bayern Munich and was most fans man-of-the-match.

The Scotland man had been in impressive form at the start of the season before making way for the England youth internationalist who started the matches against Sevco and Anderlecht.

Roberts will miss out on the Champions League trip to Paris Saint Germain and the Betfred Cup Final against Motherwell but is confident of facing Anderlecht.
