The SFA’s obsession with Bobby Madden continues this weekend with the Lanarkshire based referee in charge of Sunday’s Aberdeen v Celtic match.

Of the last three matches involving the top three clubs in the country, Celtic, Aberdeen and Sevco, Madden has been chosen to take charge each time.

At the end of December Madden was given the Glasgow derby which finished in a 0-0 draw.

Following the winter break he took charge of Sevco’s next Premiership match when they beat Aberdeen at Ibrox.

For good measure Madden was also in charge of the Celtic v Hibs match on January 27.

Willie Collum and Craig Thomson are regarded as Scotland’s top two referees but seem to be frozen out of the top fixtures.

Following his horrendous display in the Celtic v St Johnstone match John Beaton will be in charge of the Hearts v Sevco match on Saturday.

In the midweek fixtures Thomson will referee Celtic’s game against Dundee with Steven McLean the man in the middle when Sevco visit St Johnstone.
