The blood letting at Ibrox is well underway with gallant pioneer Lee Wallace the first target.

Waldo refused to join Steven Naismith, Kyle Lafferty and other stars by staying at Ibrox in 2012 when he TUPE’d his Rangers (IL) contract over to Charles Green’s Sevco venture.

That decision gave the former Hearts defender legendary status as Ally McCoist led the club through the journey out of the lower divisions.

Waldo started the season with the captain’s armband despite the signing of Bruno Alves but a mystery leg injury picked up in September has left him out of action as Sevco battle for second spot.

After Sunday’s defeat from Celtic the defender’s character has come under fire with someone spilling the beans to the Daiily Record.

According to the Glasgow based publisher: “The Ibrox board are livid at the lack of respect shown to Murty and his office. They are particularly incensed at the behaviour of club captain Wallace, one of the highest earners at the club.

Murty declared the full-back fit to face Celtic on Friday afternoon but he did not even make the bench on Sunday afternoon.

He has been unavailable through injury for much of this season and club chiefs are furious he vented such vitriol at Murty when he was at his lowest ebb.

Miller and Wallace let loose with a savage verbal onslaught that slaughtered his pre-match planning and matchday preparation in front of stunned team-mates in the dressing room after the 4-0 defeat.

A Rangers source said certain individuals had been a “disruptive influence” at Ibrox for too long.”

While those inside Ibrox like to bask in the idea of dignity the club’s greatest ever servant now knows just how paper thin that claim is.

Despite claims of Wallace being one of the highest earners he is believed to be on around 40% of the wages being paid to Alves, Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.
