Young McCrorie insists that there is no derby hangover at Ibrox.

The highly talented 20-year-old watched that 3-2 defeat from the Directors Box at Ibrox with Graeme Murty’s side picking up just one point from the two matches since.

It seems an age ago that the home dressing room at Ibrox was whooping it up when the draw for the Scottish Cup gave them another meeting with Celtic.

With their title challenge dead in the water Sevco now have a battle on their hands to avoid finishing in fourth place with McCrorie hoping to be back in the side to face Dundee on Saturday.

I wouldn’t say confidence is an issue after the last game against Celtic,” he told the Daily Record. “It just so happens that result has coincided with a poor run of form but on Old Firm day anything can happen so we’ll just wait and see.

“We’ve got another one at Hampden coming up and I want to get back in the team for then.

“Can we beat them? You never know what can happen on the day. First and foremost we need to turn up and put in a performance.”

McCrorie picked up a foot injury towards the end of 2017 and has yet to play this year.

With Bruno Alves and Russell Martin struggling for form it’s likely that the 20-year-old will go into the Sevco defence as Murty tries to turn things around with more and more former players and pundits questioning whether the Ibrox caretaker should get the job on a permanent basis.
