Josh Windass faces a race against time to be fit to face Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final in 13 days time.

The Sevco midfielder picked up a calf injury in the 82nd minute of Saturday’s draw at Motherwell with Graeme Murty in the dark about the knock.

Windass landed awkwardly after trying a snap shot at goal but elected to hobble off rather than use a stretcher.

Murty has fashioned his team around the former Accrington starlet but may be forced to change his team for the Hampden showdown.

Josh is sore right now,” the Ibrox caretaker told The Sun.

He’s in a bit of pain and we’re going to assess him and take our time to have a look at that. It’s something in his calf, I think. It’s definitely in his lower limb.”

The possible loss of Windass is compensated by the return from long term injury of Graham Dorrans, Young McCrorie and Jordan Rossiter.

Saturday’s draw at Motherwell was another nail in the coffin of Murty’s hopes of being made permanent manager at the end of the season.

With Hibs and Aberdeen closing in on second place the pressure is on Sevco on Saturday as they host Dundee hoping to avoid their EIGHTH home defeat of the season.
