Chris Sutton was thrilled by Odsonne Edouard’s two goal display against Rosenborg.

The Englishman enjoyed a few memorable European nights and while a second round qualifier doesn’t compare with sinking Barcelona or AC Milan these days you have to get past the champions of Norway to book your place at the main event.

Edouard arrived at Celtic at the end of the summer 2017 transfer window as Brendan Rodgers opted to bring in an insurance policy against his injury prone strikers Moissa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths.

After a few impressive displays the kid on loan from Paris Saint Germain made his mark on the March Glasgow derby with the winning goal after coming off the bench.

Two goals in title decider against Sevco went down a treat with Celtic making his move permanent in the summer for a fee reported between £6-9m.

Edouard opened the competitive scoring a fortnight ago against Alashkert, his double tonight won’t be his last in Europe for Sutton to enjoy.
