Ryan Christie has admitted that he is close to signing a new Celtic contract.
The midfielder has grabbed an unexpected opportunity with both hands playing a major role in Celtic’s recent improved form.
Christie’s initial Celtic contract expires at the end of this season but it seems that a new contract is close to being signed.

????? RC: “The last week or so has helped me in terms of having an impact and scoring a few goals. With the contract talks, I had to speak with the manager as well. He let me know he sees a future for me at the club. Hopefully I get it signed sooner rather than later. ” #UEL #CELRBL

Ronny Deila signed the attacking midfielder from Inverness Caley Thistle in the summer of 2015 but he was immediately loaned back to the highland side.
Two loan spells at Aberdeen suggested that Christie wasn’t quite in Brendan Rodgers’ first team plans but that all changed at Murrayfield in the semi-final of the Betfred Cup against Hearts.
Replacing the injured Olivier Ntcham at half time Christie earned Celtic a penalty, had a major assist in a goal for James Forrest then scored the third and final goal.
He has continued that form with goals in each of Celtic’s last two matches.
