Brendan Rodgers doesn’t want to see Tom Rogic run around like a headless chicken.

The midfielder has developed into a key part of Celtic’s success with the priceless art of timing his movement to perfection.

Willie Wallace recently made a light hearted comment that he could move faster than Rogic but no-one moves faster in the mind than the Australian midfielder.

Celtic’s return to form started in the 6-0 win away to St Johnstone where four goals from James Forrest took the headlines.

Rogic had a hand in creating four goals that day and has since chipped in with the breakthrough goals against Hibs and Dundee.

Tom gives the team a different dynamic in terms of how he plays,” Rodgers told The Sun.

I always think with Tom is that he doesn’t move so much, which actually helps. That’s because he can find space.

The dynamics of your team are always important, especially when you play three or four in midfield.

Tom has this incredible quality of standing still and knows where to stand. That’s what he does.

He conserves his energy well, so that when he doesn’t have the ball he can press the game.

Like I say, when he takes the ball he’s normally receiving it to go forward.

He’s a big big talent and a very important player. He’s got some great qualities.

Tom’s so cool and calm — and I think he could play in a tuxedo during the game because he just moves so well. He’s fantastic.”

Rogic missed the 2-0 defeat away to RB Leipzig but will be in the side to face the Germans tonight in a match that Celtic has to win.

In January there could be a club v country dispute with Australia taking part in the Asian Cup, should they reach the final Rogic would miss out on five domestic matches as well as the winter break.
